The infield looks tiny. The outfield walls look short. The mound is way too close.
Some of these kids are 13 years old, next year they're going to be playing on adult size fields when playing Freshmen or JV baseball in High School.
I don't get it.

Little League is a completely different game.
Although, when they move into the Jr/Sr divisions, they do play on fields bigger than Fenway Park...

Its how I got my incredible on base % in babe ruth league. Nobody could hit the strike zone. Of course by the end of the year it seemed like more pitchers got it so I was hurt. I never played too much anyway... I suck at baseball.

Yeah, Little League is about sportsmanship/teamwork and learning the basics and less about winning (at least in theory).
The year I played, I can remember exactly one homerun being hit. It was in a scrimmage where the other team didn't show, minus one kid (who my dad gave a ride to as he was our neighbor.) The "kid" who hit it was in HS and our team was a bunch of 5th and 6th graders. (I was on first base thanks to a walk which loaded the bases so it was awesome for me.)

Is also about teaching them to be whiny little brats?
Grow the hell up. When I was 13, I was playing on adult fields and winning All-Start tournaments.

I loved the small fields.
I had a mustache when I was 12 and hitting balls halfway into the next field was about the only thing I could do in sports.

I never played too much anyway... I suck at baseball. Same here, my one base percentage was in the top three on our team... complete with my like .013 batting average (one hit all season... off the only female pitcher, no less). Turns out being short, skinny as hell and left handed meant ball after ball. In a few games, the coach even yelled out to walk me. More often, though, they'd walk to the mound and whispered to the pitcher to, I believe. I also once got to take a base once when a ball hit the dirt about two or three inches in front of me and rolled in, hitting my shoe.

the dimensions are a bit too close. 75 ft base paths and 250 ft walls seem about right

Hell I got hit in the foot by a pitching machine once

Because they're little guys. Some of them are. But a lot of them aren't. Some of these kids are like 5'10 already. And like I said, are going to be playing high school baseball in a year.

I played fast-pitch softball for 7 years, so I have no clue how that works.
I just knew I wasn't worried about being on TV for the whole world to see us lose. Nowadays, the camera zooms in on the poor kid that gave up the winning hit, crying his eyes out. Coach consoles him, then probably gives a pep talk that's something along the lines of "Maybe we should have just stayed home, then."
