Yeah I heard about that earlier. It sucks . I've only seen Tokyo Godfathers, and it was awesome. I have Perfect Blue though and I'll get around to it soon, especially now that he's gone. I also really wanna see Millennium Actress. It looked great.

RIP. It's been forever since I've seen Perfect Blue. I should check out his other stuff too; might make it a weekend thing with some friends of mine.

Oh wow, that sucks. Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent were great, and I've always wanted to see Paprika.

I own Perfect Blue and Millenium Actress, both great stuff. I have to get around to seeing the others.
47 is way too young. I don't usually hear "sudden" and "cancer" in the same sentence though.

Too bad his next movie really sounded awesome. The only stuff I saw from him was Perfect Blue and Tokyo Godfathers. Liked Perfect Blue the best but the ending was kind of lame but the whole movie was played as a total mindf*** and was so well done. Might watch Paprika tonight since he died and all and still haven't seen it.

I remember getting to see Paprika in a small indie theater, one of my favorite animes of the last couple of years.
Man I was going to put up Littlekuriboh's parody trailer of Perfect Blue on here but the only two places on youtube it is they've removed the audio from.

Not much of a fan of anime, so I'm not familiar with his work. I have a few friends that are big fans, so I know this will hit them hard. My condolences go out to his family and friends.

R.I.P.
I was hooked on his work since I saw Paranoia Agent, and all of it is great. This is a big blow, I'm going to really miss his unique and fantastical animation style.

How do you die suddenly from cancer? He had pancreatic cancer, which in many cases, isn't diagnosed until it's already pretty much killed you due to lack of symptoms. Some people are lucky and diagnosed earlier on, but very rarely will someone actually live long after diagnosis. His blog says he was diagnosed in May and was given about half a year to live (it had already metastasized to his bones by that time).

RIP- I've yet to see Tokyo Godfathers, but Paranoia Agent was amazing. Tokyo Godfathers was great. I had to force myself not to cry in public as I saw it first at my old school's anime club. It was a great story.

It was a great story. The saddest part had to be when the chick reunited with her dad, especially considering all she did....
