GI Joe is there! I love these intros. The DiC series was admittedly a big part of my childhood, but having matured, I can go back to the Sunbow/Marvel one, but the DiC versions flaws really shine through. And just because this might be nostalgic to some of us as well

Awesome theme. I especially love the version they used at the opening of the old movie.

There is a very good reason for that, actually. Well... there is for me, anyways.
I'm very, very lazy.

And people would fly on jetpacks and shoot lasers at one another! Okay really they'd be awkwardly swished around on wire harnesses with faux jetpacks spewing fog to enhance the lasers, but hey! Whatever works!

The figures kick ass, and the show's pretty rad too (if cheesy at times.)

And just because this might be nostalgic to some of us as well Several questions about the last version of the song from the first youtube vid... Isn't it kind of dumb for Cobra to be parachuting into fireworks like that? Maybe I'm underestimating chutes, but I thought they'd get burned up and send all those guys plummeting! Geez, the beating the poor ol' Statue of Liberty takes...yet is still in tact...was this when they replaced the copper with adamantium? ;D Duke grabs the bomb to plant on the Cobra airship...when it had 8 seconds left...that had to have been the longest 8 seconds I've ever seen! I never realized how little Scarlett is in these intros (who is generally considered the "hot" GI Joe), and how much Lady Jane is in them (who's considered the not so hot GI Joe). Great intros though for a classic cartoon. Maybe if He-man had had a better intro with words, his show would have lasted a bit longer.

Considered the not so hot GI Joe by whom? Lady Jaye had it all over Scarlett as far as I was concerned.

Yeah I agree. Lady Jaye was way hotter than Scarlett, so was Cover Girl for that matter.
Since we're on the subject of Joe, last year I watched the entire series, both Sunbow and DIC, and while the DIC ones were mostly crap, the Sunbow series still stands up very well actually.
And I've spent pretty much all my free time this past week finally reading all the comics in chronological order. My God, they are even better than I remembered them as a kid. I am currently up to issue 63 of the main series and issue 6 of Special Missions. I'm totally consumed by it right now because it's just soooo good.
I can't help but think what an awesome tv show it would make. It has a large cast, lots of ongoing subplots, hot women, comic relief, action, romance, ninjas, and drama. Just give them more straight up military uniforms (except Snake Eyes), slightly alter the Cobra high command's outfits so they don't look ridiculous but still maintain the essence of the characters, and change all the Vietnam stuff to the Iraq war, and it could work so well.
