Those are the only four I own, cause the rest were victims of my 51% rule (as in, I must like more than half the songs on a CD to keep it).
Jed Shaffer ~And what's with calling the self titled album "Metallics"?

Ok, get to voting. My personal favorite is RtL Mine too, although I like Lightning/Puppets/Justice pretty close to equally.

Ride or Master....hmmm....edge goes to Ride, simply because For Whom the Bell Tolls is my favorite Metallica song.

Honestly? Death Magnetic. Yeah, I liked it THAT much. It's awesome and perfectly paced and just...incredible. I'd rank them like this: 1) Death Magnetic 2) Master of Puppets 3) Black Album 4) Ride the Lightning 5) ...And Justice For All 6) Load 7) Reload 8) St. Anger 9) Kill 'Em All Probably a weird list, and I don't include Garage, Inc. or S&M usually. You'd seriously rank Death Magnetic over Master Of Puppets? Holy mother of cow... [i[Death Magnetic[/i] was a good album, Metallica's best since ...And Justice For All or possibly Black Album but to rank it over the definite Metallica album? That is...odd, I'll give you that. I also notice you rank St. Anger over Kill 'Em All. Equally odd. Then again, maybe I'm not with "it" anymore. I used to be with "it". But then they changed what "it" was. Now, what I'm with isn't it, and what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

And there's not an album on that list I dislike. Yes, that means I actually liked St. Anger.

I only own two Metallica albums- Load and Master of Puppets. My favorite between them is Load, though. Don't look at me that way. You, good sir, is quite a strange fellow.

Almost every song is "We're Metallica, we're coming to rock your town and kick your ass!". It's like a Motley Crue album with better musicianship. Not to mention Hatfield's voice sounds like a 14-year old boy. Jed Shaffer ~Let the flaming begin!

Kill Em All was a great album IMO. One of the best thrash albums of all time IMO.
Biafra ~ And that isn't a flame, but rather a statement of a differing opinion.

It's not the most horrible thing I've ever heard, but they improved about a billionfold with every release after it. Seriously.

Kill 'Em All is by no means their best album, but I'd definitely put it over St. Anger. That album is at the bottom of the Metallica barrrel, in my opinion.
Also, I CAN'T believe my freaking Simpsons reference got no sold on a forum where seemingly EVERYONE is a Simpsons geek!

Definitely Ride the Lightning. In my opinion, it's just the most consistent.

I've always had a soft spot for "...And Justice For All". You and me both, palomino. I've been listening to this album a lot lately. "Dyers Eve" is seriously one of the best songs Metallica has ever recorded.
