Smoking Gunns were my favorite tag teams when I was a kid..the WWF New Generation looked really cool with guys like Ahmed, Smoking Gunns,Bret Hart, HBK,Diesel etc.... I feel the Smoking Gunns were really underrated. If you like the Gunns, you can appreciate them in this thread...

Even though Billy Gunn gets a lot of hate (and deservedly slow) at least the Smoking Gunns were an actual tag team. I just wish the WWE today had more tag teams like this rather than paired up single wrestlers.
Although the tag division in the New Generation era was pretty thin compared to what it had been in the 1980s, some of it I think is really under appreciated. Not so much the Smoking Gunns, but tag teams like the Headshrinkers and the Quebeckers.
Also, its kind of amazing that both guys are still in really good shape and haven't aged much.

I enjoyed the Gunns. They had some pretty cool theme music too.

I remember wishing they'd feud with Tatanka.
They had a really good chemistry I thought, they worked well as a team.

They were at one of the first house shows I remember going to at Nassau Coliseum so they'll always at least be appreciated by me for that

They were at one of the first house shows I remember going to at Nassau Coliseum so they'll always at least be appreciated by me for that I actually ended up meeting them at the Coliseum in '95. I was working for Tower Records and we got special meet n' greet passes. I was hoping for Owen Hart (I could see him in with a different group in a different room), but we ended up getting the Gunns. I never liked the Gunns, so to say I was disappointed is an understatement. I think they could tell he weren't thrilled, but did they really expect 19 year olds to like cowboys? One very cool thing, however...the room we were in happened to be connected to the Coliseum's underground parking lot and because of that, I got to meet Chris Candido and Tammy Sytch! They looked surprised to accidentally walk into a room with a few fans sitting there, but they were quite cool and shook hands with everyone, even though they were obviously late.

They were at one of the first house shows I remember going to at Nassau Coliseum so they'll always at least be appreciated by me for that Back in the day when they did specific promos for each town's house show on Superstars I was watching and Doc Hendrix said the following, "Yes, [my city] Sunny will be there with the Smoking Guns!". A freakin' week before the house show, she ditched the Guns and therefore was not on the show. Boooo. Oh well, Sable was there and the main event was Taker vs. Mankind, so it's all good. Also on the card, Steve Austin vs. Hunter Hearst Hemsley. Which was so not the match it would be just years later.

I had the same sadness about Sunny when I went to WM 13, and all we saw of her was looking up at the screens and seeing her with Brian Pillman pushing the Superstar Line. Then we're all like, "No live Sunny? Boo!" I liked the Gunns, mainly because they had a good angle with Billy being infatuated with Sunny, and Bart would be the one who had to keep his brother's head on straight and focus on the match. They had the Sidewinder, which was a pretty cool finisher for the time-frame. Bart swinging his opponent around with a spinning side slam while Billy leaped off of the top rope with a legdrop.

The Sidewinder was awesome because they both were pretty tall and for Billy to be able to do that at 6'6'' was amazing.

I remember their first finisher, before the Sidewinder, Bart backdropping them into a Billy Piledriver in one, mostly, fluid motion.
Now that was a badass finisher.
The 'Shrinkers, Quebecers and Gunns were all great teams, too bad Money Inc and the Steiners didn't stay longer, those 5 teams made a hell of a division.

The Gunns were average, and the "new generation" sucked. Don't let nostalgia cloud your judgment.

Pretty good tag team. Two Cowboys riding in from Texas. For me, I lost interest in them when they got Sunny, because after they lost the tag straps, she fired them and they split up. Shame though..they were an awesome tag team.

No flip just a normal sit down piledriver. instead of the normal bend them over set up they them in position for the piledriver by having one of the Gunns backdrop the victim www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOIjDhsmwuc&feature=relatedstarting at about 5:00 This match has an asesome finish I never saw before at about 4:10 www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4BNyoSU9eA
