Did anyone ever watch this when it was on about 10 years ago? It had some corny storylines but I thought it had potential.

Roller Derby still exists, just not on TV. I
ts a pretty good time and the atmosphere is not too far away from attending an indy wrestling event. Except its all girls in fishnets and roller skates

I watched it during the time ECW was on TNN. I seem to remember the "league" only having about 4 teams, and they didn't keep win-loss records.
Dumb question, but was this scripted? I seem to remember some sort of storylines going on.

There were 5 teams and I seem to remember that they kept records the first season but I could be wrong. The first season was more about the skating and the storylines were secondary. By the second season it became more about the storylines and the skating became secondary.
The stories were scripted and early on were pretty amusing like Mark Demato trying to get the foreign couple from the Florida Sundogs deported but then the stories began to get corny like Demato and his rival Sean Atkinson being half brothers. I have heard the skating was scripted but I am not sure about that. With 10 bodies bouncing off of one another and skaters going pretty fast around the track it seems like it would be hard to script that. My philosophy was they just let them skate and whoever wins will get the victory unless it affected the story.
As I first posted I thought Roller Jam had a lot of potential and I did not have a problem with it being scripted but the stories just got to over the top. They also should have picked other skaters for the storylines. I thought Amy Craig was the most under utilized skater in Roller Jam. She was not only smoking hot but was by far the best skater yet she got put in the background while other skaters got more airtime. I would love to try to see them do something like this again but only if they do it right.

I was more into Rollergames from back in the early 90's. So much so that I bought the NES game.

Loved this show me and my cousin each had out individual teams and players we rooted for i guess.
He was the heel and i guess i was the mega over babyface with him picking the enforcers , and me and the califorina quakes...only reason for my pick was stacy blytch my gawd was that the hottest thing on skates i have ever seen woo.
But once the enforcers lost the founders cup , he jumped ship to the nevada hot dice lol.
But one guy i loved on a hated team was ray robles however u spell his name...any man that uses the tactic of throwing chilli powder in a mans eyes while in quad skates is automatically legendary in my books lol.
And i always said tim washington should wrestle main stream that dude is a monster in a legit sence lol.

I unfairly compared it to the old old broadcasts I came to love so much on local Saturday afternoon TV.

I loved Roller Jam more than ECW. The Enforcers were the best thing going!

It was pretty outrageous but really fun to watch. I remember that Battledome was on UPN around the same time and had just as ridiculous wrestling-like storylines.
Roller Jam is actually how I first found out that ECW was on TV. I was amazed to see Raven again which was awesome.
The first time I watched Roller Jam they had a penalty bench. The main captain bald guy from the New York Enforcers got benched by the ref and he went crazy picking up the freaking bench and throwing it!!! It was awesome. lol

I remember this show. I watched VERY little of it back in the day. I mostly caught glimpses of it just to kill time before ECW. I do remember the girl Lindsey Francis and thinking she was very hot. Some of the time, I enjoyed it, but not enough to follow it. Looking back, I wish I did, since I find the concept of roller derby to be a bit interesting, especially after watching some rollery derby show at some festival last year.
