I am intrigued by this on so many levels. I actually do think Orlando is a decent in ring performer and he just needed a gimmick that could get him somewhat over with the crowd. This could be that gimmick. I think they may borrow some elements of what they were going to do with Cassandro and use it with Jordan. I feel the same way that you do Gotham. OJ is ok enough in the ring, he's no ricky steamboat, but I enjoy watching him. This might be something enough to work.

I thought the spoilers said this went no where?
That he made the entrance, got to the set and then the crowd were so against it they never even let him talk or do anything and the set was just taken down?

The spoilers were so vague I have no idea what really went on. It could either be an edgy gimmick idea or crap. Either way, they waited until a taped show so they could edit it out if necessary.

Interesting that one of the top complaints about OJ was that he had no character, and now people are talking about what crazy character he's become. Maybe someone is listening at TNA?

On the bright side, if this leads TNA to look into Super Oprah or Glenn "Wonderman" Spectre to team with Jordan for "Team WTF", hey, I'll mark.

I must say, I really love that the tape says "Cross The Line."

Why are so many people calling this Goldust? I suppose he may slightly resemble 1996 Goldust in that he seems sexually ambiguous. But he looks nothing like Goldust, and we haven't heard him speak so we have no idea if he talks like Goldust. Goldust for the past decade has been a comedy character, which isn't even close to what I am seeing in these pictures of OJ. As always, I will happily admit I was wrong, if I am indeed wrong and OJ says "You will never forget the name of SSSSSSSSSSSSS Orlando Jordan", and starts stuttering because he was electrocuted.
In my opinion, this is another example of TNA letting a guy have creative input in his character. They let Elijah Burke do the Pope character he's had in mind since WWE, they are letting Mr Anderson do the character the way he wants to as opposed to how a team of writers want him to, and it seems like they are letting OJ do the character he has had in mind for some time now. I, for one, am happy to see TNA letting these guys go out there and be creative.

Most likely, people are screaming "Goldust" because of his "Artist" days, where he induced weekly "WTF" reactions. Both appear to be extremely bizarre.

I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation for all of it. Vince Russo has a giant pegboard wheel with three pointers on it, and each section has a different random aspect of a gimmick. Dixie asked him if he had anything new he wanted to try next week, he spun the three pointers and they landed on "African-American", "police tape" and "Freddy Mercury". Clear as day!

I agree that Artist Goldust was weird just to be weird, and OJ certainly seems bizarre in that attire. I guess I just see these pictures of OJ and think more along the lines of "heel" Rico -- a guy who acts sexually ambiguous to make people uncomfortable and thus gain an advantage (granted even Rico became a comedy character after a while, but when he first started wearing the makeup, he was very heelish)

Okay, as much as I'm intrigued and amused by this gimmick, I have to say that I am disappointed that it's 2010 and it looks like homosexuality/bisexuality is still being used in wrestling to get cheap heat.
I'm a straight guy and I'm ready to cheer for an openly gay wrestler, dammit.

I think the caution tape is to warn people about his horrible mic skills.

I'm interested in this. Plus the best characters or gimmicks in wrestling was somewhat based on the real life personalities of the wrestler.

In the second picture I get a "Clockwork Orange" feel... I like it.
