Well more like early 90s but Crush could really move for his size and had a great look. He was the generic fan friendly babyface but kinda worked as a heel in the ring which I thoughat was the great for it's time.
Shame he never stayed like this and got stuck with that useless evil foreigner gimmick with Fuji. He had his issues but I felt this guy could of done alot better in the WWF.

I enjoyed his feud with Savage.

Always thought face Crush would have made a solid IC champion, even if just for a little bit

Yeah Crush was a good face around 1992. He could have done with someone a similar size to him to feud with.

Billy Jack Haynes could have been this in the 80's if he didn't go all squirrely.

Man I really liked Crush. Then I liked him again in Kronik.
however an underrated bad ass face would have to be Meng.

Crush was great as a face and would have been perfect for the Intercontinental Championship...possibly World Championship. I didn't like him as much as a heel, but he still could have had a decent run as Intercontinental Champion.

He got quite a rub from Hogan when he came into WWF and then later in WCW. Shame he got mired in the mid card both times. Kronik was over bigtime. One of the only super over things wcw had in 2000

I loved Crush as a kid, even found the face painted evil Crush badass. Too bad he wasnt pushed. I still think his attire and gimmick was somewhat inspired by Sting...the surfer dude gimmick. I never understood his gimmick when he looked like the Undertaker in 1996 and was managed by Clareance Mason.

Crush was awesome. I liked when he was in the Nation Of Domination. He stuck out but also seemed to really fit in the group for some reason.

Urban Legend says it was between him and Lex Lugar as to who would slam Yokozuna in 1993, ah what could have been.

Crush got progressively worse as time went on. He had a look but lacked the talent and personality I always thought.

I was a little kid when he was face Crush and I remember being legit stunned when he turned on Savage. That was Macho Man's last real WWF feud and it was a good one, I thought. I always bought into Crush being a badass. He could've been something really special. But alas, was not to be.

I too was a fan of face Crush back in the day.

Honestly I think the WWF would've been better off pushing him to the main event in 1993 and putting him in the World Title feud against Yokozuna instead of Lex Luger. But I never liked Luger anyways.

He had a really great match with Shawn Michaels for the IC title at KOTR '93 that I fondly remember as it was one of the only wrestling tapes I owned at the time so it got a lot of air play.
Also, who could forget his awesome angle with evil Doink where Doink attacked him with a prosthetic arm? Ahhh memories.
P.S.: Every time I see his finisher I instinctively go into the "I'm crushing your head!" bit from Kids in the Hall.

Big Boss Man.
I preferred him as a heel (both in 1988-89 and 1998-2002), but he made a damn fine badass babyface. His feud with Mr. Perfect stood out to me during that time.

The funny thing about Crush is they like totally rebooted him as a character, and I don't recall them ever having an on screen reference to him being in Demolition.

The funny thing about Crush is they like totally rebooted him as a character, and I don't recall them ever having an on screen reference to him being in Demolition. Not during his face run. During his heel run in the late 90s as the leader of DOA, Jim Ross made a mention on TV that he started his career in Demolition.
