Good Ole J.R. was on a local sports talk radio show this morning. J.R. is a friend of the host Bill Rosinski, who was the voice of the Atlanta Falcons and the Carolina Panthers. Here are the highlights: He started talking about Oklahoma football, the quarterback situation and why he got kicked off the team (he made $18,000 for five hours worth of work at a local car dealership). The talk then moved to wrestling, where they discussed the study. He knocked Wake Forest University, saying they should have better things to do a study on than wrestling. He said that parents should take more responsibility for their kids instead of blaming outside influences. They moved to the PPV, and talked about Hogan and Orton. J.R. said that if Hulk Hogan in the ring at 53 years old (that he admits to), is not proof that wrestling is entertainment, then he doesn't know what is. They talked about Flair, because he is from Charlotte, and J.R. plugged the I Quit match, saying that Flair would wrestle Foley in a match where the only way that you can win the match is to make your opponent say "I quit," hence the name an I Quit match. He told everyone the date and the time, the usual PPV promo stuff. They talked about his BBQ sauce, and how he was going to open up a restaurant, and that they were looking for a location. They said their goodbyes and that was the end of the interview. Pretty entertaining. You can hear the interview sometime in the future, I am sure, at www.billrosinskishow.com
