That really only happened to Jericho. You're forgetting about Benoit. It's about to happen to Rey as well. Triple H never beat Benoit for the title, he didn't beat Rey for it either.

Perhaps I should be more clear: This doesn't have to do with Triple H, I was just saying that this happens to some of his opponents. The Secondary Title Depush is when a wrestler becomes WWE or World Champion, loses the belt, and then competes for lesser titles (IC, US, ect) for a while. That's it. Thus, Benoit fits and so will Rey soon.

In your original post you said "A lot of Triple H's opponents get Secondary Title Depush, where after he's beaten them they go from main event to midcard and compete for lesser belts". If you were using Triple H as an example you should have been more clear about it.

I thought that I had made it clear that the two things--Triple H and the depush--were not always linked, but apparently I didn't.

Pretty much accurate. Chop off the last two matches, and the dozen instances of the word "grudge".

Can't say I'm surprised they stuck Kane in the IC title picture when the Raw mid-card for the past two months had been made up of three people (Shelton, Carlito, and Nitro).

. At least they are mixing it up by throwing in someone else. And Kane is not boring, he is one of the most over superstars on Raw has been fantastic for 10 years now. An IC title win would be cool and could pave a way to a WWE title oppurtunity.

this makes no sense. Nitro has been feuding with Carlito (as well as Shelton) but KANE is the one who he faces at the 2nd biggest PPV of the year? Lazy booking right there since they had no clue what to do with Kane and just tossed him in there instead of letting that feud take its course. It should be Nitro-Benjamin-Carlito in a triple threat ladder match for the IC belt at the show, not Nitro-Kane It was one of the stupidest booking foul ups I've seen so far this year. Shelton/Carlito/Melina's errand boy had been feuding for two straight months and they end it to put over the missing in action Kane? A guy who's pushed always ends in mediocrity? Kane vs Nitro will be a MOTY candiate or show stealer? WTF kind of logic is being USED on Raw?

Seriously, I thought that Shelton had already won the right to be #1 contender. It's almost as if the WWE honestly believes that if they don't show a "This happened last week" clip we honestly won't remember it. huh? wha? what happened last week? all I remember is that Vince loves Cock, lol, DX is funnah! BTW, those DX video montages aren't even funny, and got old after the first showing. Kane winning the I-C title makes 0 sense, but then agains seeing as he won't be WWE champion (that sucks), this is the next best thing. And if it means Johnny Metro isn't champ, then that's fine with me.

It'll accidentally be good for the belt too, having someone hold it for a bit again instead of trading it around. That won't be why they do it though, they'll have Nitro retain because they think he'll somehow be a main eventer some day.

I see that they are trying hard to make into a HBK-like person, but it's not working that well. They should stop trying to make "the next HBK or Rock" and make someone original, that way people won't think "hey that's how HBK was in 1992". He's not over in the least, and god forbid Melina gets injured, he's screwed.

There is no way you can convincingly book Nitro to get a win over Kane. He doesn't have McMahon or a stable to make up the difference with Kane's dominance factor. It's a HORRIBLE upcoming match and will be embarassing to what prior IC title matches have been this year.

Hell have any wrestler talk about the IC belt, ever. No one does, they just have it and that's it. No one cuts a promo talking about how they're going to take the IC belt from someone else, or has any storyline for it. The closest thing they have to feuds for it are simply having rematches that could easily be on Heat. Doesn't have to take up 20 mins of the show, but they don't even have so much as a 60 sec backstage interview about the damn thing.
