Yeah I rip on other posters, especially ones that want things their way when they have no clue what they are talking about. Here's the truth. I am a huge Pope fan, and I have, in the past, verbally ripped RVD to shreds for his work. Same with Jeff Hardy. Now I don't because both have more moves in TNA than in WWE, and their big moves mean more. But Lockdown spoke volumes about Pope, he's NOT quite there. Samoa Joe was, and they blew it. Pope isn't there yet, awesome as he has been. Half the damn crowd booed him. He's really over in Orlando, and he's got a fresh look and character, but to represent the company for a while, you need more consistency. RVD is not long term. This is a couple months tops to generate interest. Pope's time will come.....people just need patience "RVD is not long term" "Pope's time will come" Talk about people have no clue what they're talking about. You sir, are clearly just making things up and no idea if there's any validity to it. They could think RVD is the future of TNA and will give a long run as champ. Maybe not. Pope could be let go in a week (see Daniels) maybe not. But to pretend that everyone else has no idea what they're talking about for expressing their opinions and then to pretend you know exactly what's going on in TNA is hypocritical. I'm not saying your opinion isn't valid, but don't pretend like everyone else's isn't. That being said - I doubt RVD is long term as well, but they could have gotten another month or two of great TV with him going after the title - winning it on PPV (making TNA a lot more money if he's the draw he he is) and then progressing from there. TNA is guilty of putting about a months worth of a good storyline into one show instead of spreading it out.

It appears Pope is turning into the TNA Forum equivalent of CM Punk in WWE, where his fans go ballistic anytime he gets "screwed" or otherwise comes up on the short end of a feud. The behavioral similarities are too notable to miss. This for me. It's getting ridiculous. The guy can talk, granted. He has the look. That doesnt make him a world champion. He hasnt really had what id call a good run so far. Its been fits and starts. few good wins. few losses. won the 8 card stud, and had his title run de-railed by the abyss/hogan push. he spent more time fighting with desmond wolfe in the run up to lockdown. He's coming along nicely. over in the impact zone (but almost got booed out of st louis as a face). He just isnt ready. he hasnt fought any real wars or done anything spectacular to prove he could be the one to carry the brand potentially around the world. Compare him with MIIIIIIIISTER ANDERRRRRRSON. He can talk, he has the look, and he's just come off an absolute monster of a feud with kurt angle. He gets huge heat as a heel, and has been arguably the best (or one of the best) things about impact since he came in. His match with angle at lockdown was no exaggerating, one of the best matches i have even seen. I know which one of the two would be champion (or number 1 contender at least) if i had the book. it wouldnt be pope. This pope hype is getting ridiculous. Over the last few weeks ive seen posts comparing him to the rock, and stone cold. He's done almost nothing to earn that kind of hype. I like pope believe it or not, but his charactor is barely started and he's done nothing yet to get anywhere near what is supposed to be the pinnacle title in tna. Douglas williams (ex tag champ, ex x division champ) has probably earned a shot more then him

I just saw a thread about how CM Punk could lose every match and look great, but I guess you're talking about before he turned heel.

I meant how Punk's fans would complain at every loss (even though Punk's current gimmick doesn't seem to suffer heat loss from losing matches, people act like it does).
Pope is talented but the way people become violently upset whenever he loses to anyone is very reminiscent of some Punk fans' attitude to their favorite.

No, I said wait and see in that post. I mean it too.
Last night, we saw an A+++++++ show. The stories flowed, there was more wrestling, and the crowds were into it all night.
Yet all I have seen from the usual suspects is: Samoa Joe was booked wrong in his comeback! RVD shouldn't have Pope's belt! AJ will be buried!
All because there are whiners that hate Hulk Hogan's existence in TNA.
At this point, there is no other reason to complain other than people wanting their precious niche Indy show back, without realizing this company's got one more shot, and they are going for it all.
