Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he can't get a crowd to hate him. Difference now and last monthis he's being boastful and smiling again. Smug assholes get heel heat. Lol at people being trolled by Swagger

i like how so many people are saying, that SO many people are saying it was x pac heat. when the poll and majority of posts say otherwise lol. and it seems to have stemmed from someone saying it could have been bad heat. and there is such thing, the kind of heat where a promo is just boring and long so someone changes the channel and isnt entertained. his promo(s) annoyed me for that reason though, so i can see it being good heat for the live audience. theres alot of blurry lines, but back to on topic, it was real, with some of it added/enhanced IMO Most heel promos, unless they are comedy heels, are boring. They are not supposed to be entertaining on their own, which is where the face comes in. People don't change the channel if they care enough about the face that's going to interrupt. If last night was just Swagger talking for 15 minutes, then of course it wouldn't be entertaining. But the reason most people won't change the channel is because they know that most of the time there is an interruption to the promo. Big Show came out and the crowd chanted 'Knock him out!'. There is absolutely no way whatsoever that can be called bad heat.

Its funny to see how some people cant accept Jack Swagger got over Especially when before he won MITB, most people were BEGGING for him to be pushed. Yeah, that was all legit heat. Real heat. Listen to the way the crowd pops when Teddy Long says "We're tired of listening to you". It was ACTUAL pops, not the known, extremely familiar seagull pops.

That segment last night was amazing. Swagger got genuine hatred from the crowd and was interrupted by IMO the most likeable face in the WWE who the crowd actually requested to knock Swagger out.
For the people saying that the crowd were booing him because they hated him and wanted him to go away......THAT'S WHAT A HEEL IS SUPPOSED TO DO!! the term 'x-pac heat' was coined because X-Pac was meant to be a face when people were telling him he sucked. Swagger's reign as champion is proving to be a success because the crowd hate him for being obnoxious by boring them with his accomplishments. Big Show came out as a face, punched him and made the crowd pop, perfectly setting up their ppv match. It was a perfect segment to end a great Smackdown.

The only people I can recall in recent history who have had X-Pac heat are pre-comedy Santino, Michelle McCool and X-Pac himself. So people misunderstand what X-Pac heat is. It's not go away heat, it's a face wrestler getting heel heat, because either the fans don't want them as a face, or the fans don't want them at all - but the only people that can get X-Pac heat are faces. Think about it, all heat is go away heat. You're booing a heel because you don't like them, and if you don't like them, and you are booing them, they are dong their job. If you're booing him because he doesn't deserve to be champion, then he's still doing his job, because that's how he is being booked. He's a JBL-type champion, and for those that weren't around the IWC in 2002-2003, JBL was hated with a capital H, because he just plain did not deserve to beat Eddie, or be champion. People were just desperate for anyone - even other heels - to beat him. It took most people about five years to realise that JBL was not only the best champ of the previous decade, but the best booked heel champion ever in the WWE. Most people think X-Pac Heat and Conway Pop meand Dead Heat X-Pac Heat= what he said Conway Pop= With the crowd just doesnt care for a face at all. Dead Heat=when Heel is unable to make the crowd care/hate about him. I think its goes that way McMahon allegedly referred to Dead Heat as Haas Heat, just before Charlie Haas got his impersonator gimmick.

It maybe because I was watching SD on a different TV last night but I haven't heard heat or reaction like that since Vickie Guerrero at Judgment Day 08.

I love how some people hate Swagger so much they'll pretend all the heat he got last night was piped. I even find it hysterical that some people even think it's X-Pac heat and they're booing him cause they want him to go away, well guess what? That's his JOB!
He's an undeserving champion who loses a lot and wins via flukes, no shit he's someone people want to go away. Do you also think Chris Jericho gets X-Pac heat? People find him annoying and want him to go away, he must be doing his job bad too right?
Regardless, I'm glad Swagger finally got over, he's shown a lot of improvement since his less than stellar debut. I'm hoping for a long reign against a multitude of challengers ala JBL.
Hell if anything, the heat he's getting benefited Big Show who got a "Knock him out!" chant over the usual indifference he got as a heel.

When are people gonna realize that only X-Pac gets X-Pac heat?
X-Pac heat was just the last remnants of his career going down the toilet where it belongs. He was literally a joke by the time he was at the end of his career. Even the E acknowledged this.
They chanted "X-Pac Sucks" when they were just BORED and didn't have anything else to do. You really think Swagger's got it on that level? Hell no!

Was all that heat during Swagger's promo tonight legit or was it piped-in? I personally think that it was real. I was STUNNED at how much heat he was getting. I think the KNOCK HIM OUT chants verify that the crowd was hot that night. People at the show confirmed he was getting big heat, to the point where he couldn;t even talk over them.

Until I hear this type of reaction on RAW or PPV, I just can't not take it with a grain of salt. Given his crowd reactions in the past, can you really blame people for being skeptical when he suddenly gets a STAGGERING amount of heat?

Given his crowd reactions in the past, can you really blame people for being skeptical when he suddenly gets a STAGGERING amount of heat? Thing is, the reason why he got that amount of heat was the way he was booked on Smackdown. You're not going to hear that amount of heat for Swagger on RAW, because they'll book him differently. And a PPV? Unless your name is CM Punk or Chris Jericho, you're not going to get any mic time to "heel it up" at a PPV.

I watched the live video of him winning the WHC in Vegas, the crowd exploded, even the guy recording started shouting "NOOOOOO!" non-stop. I'm sure winning a World Title and pissing people off will get you heat.

I think Swagger should have it until at least Summerslam, maybe a month after that to truly establish him as a top star.
But the belt also needs to go on Punk. He's far too good right now not to have it. So there may be a transitional one month babyface reign in there somewhere.

I can buy him getting legit heat because the guy has the most smug looking face on the roster (rivaled only by The Miz.)

Sit down Mizfits, I'm not saying Swagger's promos are Miz quality, just saying the way they "flow" their words are almost identical.

He's far too good right now not to have it. So there may be a transitional one month babyface reign in there somewhere. Punk doesn't need the belt right now. The match against Big Show at Over The Limit will be booked in such a way that everyone expects Swagger to lose. At fatal 4-way, I expect Swagger to face three popular faces (Show, Christian and Kofi - it's face-heavy in the main event) - again, booked in such a way that a face *must* win, but Swagger escapes with the title. (Raw's heel heavy main event will see Cena overcome the odds against three heels). At Money in the Bank, he then faces Christian (while Kofi wins MITB), the backstory being that Christian beat Swagger on more than one occasion when Swagger was ECW champ. Swagger retains there and at Summerslam. Swagger's then got September to December to defend against MVP and Kane and others. Keep Kofi guy away from him until the week after Swagger beats (say) Matt Hardy to retain at the Royal Rumble (hey, it's the Rumble, a long-term midcarder gets a shot at the Rumble every other year). Kofi qualifies for the Elimination Chamber, and also waves the briefcase in Swagger's face, and that Kofi *will* walk out of Elimination Chamber the champion. Only he doesn't. Swagger comes out last, and the other two are down. Let's say Punk and Kofi. A weapon of some nature is already in the ring. Swagger comes in, nails the DoctorBomb on Punk, and pins him. Kofi is stirring, but Swagger nails him with the weapon at least once, and then DoctorBomb, to retain without barely breaking sweat - and more importantly he's incapacitated Kofi, so he doesn't cash in MITB. Next week on Smackdown, with the Royal Rumble winner chasing the other champion - Kofi comes out, and annouces that he is cashing in his MITB, but not tonight, he's cashing it in at Wrestlemania. Kofi wins, finally ending Swagger's hellish year long reign, and we have Kofi Kingston elevated in a huge was, as John Cena was, when he beat JBL.
