Daniel Bryan should be serious

No, not like Chris Jericho. I mean like guys who were all about serious business and didn't know how to have fun. Like for instance, Steve Blackman, Lance Storm. "Straight" guys. They were perfect for tag team comedy gold, when paired with funny characters like Al Snow and Goldust.

Daniel Bryan has no gimmick and I hope they continue the "personality as dry as the sahara desert" gimmick. But not just for comedic purposes. Agree? Daniel Bryan's gimmick should be that he's a bland guy with no personality?

Congratulations on being the Man of 1,004 Posts. And I could see Danielson pulling a total "If I can be serious for a moment" gimmick. Might make sense. On the other hand, I'd love to see the large ham that he was as ROH Champion make its appearance. So I guess my response to this is that it might work. Just maybe.

I don't agree. It seems to me that that's actually how Lance Storm and Steve Blackman are. It's not like they were sitting around one day and said I KNOW I'll be boring and serious! That'll get me over!!! Not to mention that didn't really work out very well for those 2 did it? I think Danielson has plenty of personality and good mic work, and should definitely use it to get over.

I was going to post this in one of the other Danielson threads, but I honestly think they need to push him as the "intense midget" thing Kendrick had going on (and has continued with on the indies.) Mind you, I don't mean the "The Brian Kendrick" thing, but in terms of how Kendrick would go about his matches (when he wasn't jobbing.)

I think Danielson can pull off the grizzly insane little man gimmick. I know this because at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's finals of DDT4 2009, he had a tag match with Strong against the Young Bucks where he legitimately looked scary. I was in the crowd for that one and he was kicking one of the Young Bucks so hard in the chest right in front of me. It was thrilling and frightening all at the same time.

He's not the biggest guy in the world, but I think we all know someone who is smaller than us, someone we nonetheless know could kick the crap out of us.

Yeah, and he gets to go back and forth from "Aw shucks" to "F you, I'm THE BEST WRESTLER IN THE WORLD!!"
