It's hard to see how they're going to get around the fact that they can't call themselves ECW, can't purport to be from ECW, and can't really have anything to do with ECW at all. It'll just have to be "Group of guys who like hardcore wrestling". I imagine the C+D papers are already in the mail. they can say they are from ecw, cause they are. I think this board could do for a little lesson in law. Not they're not from ECW, because ECW doesn't exist except as a WWE trademark. Former ECW wrestlers is what they are.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this. Is it going to be beneficial to the future of TNA? Definitely not but I'm not gonna complain. It seems like the main reason to watch TNA recently has been nostalgia and this show will be full of it. There probably won't be any limitations as to what the ECW guys are allowed to do either.

In all fairness regarding whether or not they can utter the letters "ECW", they already referred to them specifically as former ECW guys at Victory Road at least twice.
However, I don't know how that relates to what they can say in the marketing of the show.
It's also interesting to note that when Sandman, New Jack, etc. were there as part of S.E.X. they wore ECW t-shirts on a regular basis despite the fact that they were TNA wrestlers and WWE owned ECW at that point.
As an aside, I just can't help but think they'll change the name to Hardcore Justice.

Some of you people disappoint me any little thing TNA does to please you guys, you complain and whine personally I like this idea sure these guys are old and ECW died a long time ago but the build up to it so far has been pretty awesome I marked when I saw the brawl at the end of the show it was cool to see who would be siding with who and im sure this PPV will rock.

I'm not into this at all.
It's definatley not going to have the same atmosphere as ONS and is basically just going to be like Hardcore Homecoming...lame.

Little thing? This thing is going to take an entire PPV. Not exactly little. Can you blame people for taking issue, especially since WWE did this exact same angle, but better, 6 years ago and it was an ACTUAL ECW show? TNA has guys that are nowhere near as good as they were 6 years ago, and even then they were past their primes. The build has been mediocre at best. This PPV ain't gonna fly with mediocrity. They HAVE to bring their A-game. Now, geezers from TWO dead companies are prominent on the shows. Pardon me for being skeptical.

I'm confused now though. Is this RVD/Abyss match that Abyss teased going to be on this PPV, with the various ECW matches underneath? Or will they bring in Jerry Lynn for one night to face RVD in the battle of He Who Has Lost a Step vs. Nearly Washed Up?
Given the hardcore brutality Abyss promised on Impact you would think they would do that match at a HARDCORE PPV.

Just from reading that, I'm guessing that they're not going to be bringing random guys in for one night only. It sounds more like it will be TNA vs. "ECW" in various gimmick matches. I would guess that match 5 of the MCMG's vs BMI would be there as well. Who knows at this point though.
