Negativity bugs me, so let's have a TNA Appreciation Thread! I must say that the last few Impacts have been very strong IMO, and I am currently enjoying TNA over WWE

As much as I criticize them, I am thankful that there is a second semi-mainstream company out there to employee talented professional wrestlers and utilize them in ways that the WWE probably would and could not.

TNA is still one of my favorite shows to MST3K.

This week, TNA should be proud of themselves. The ratings they got this week showed very little weakness. I said this before in the ratings thread, the only two segments that lost viewers this week were the segments with two commercials, and the one with the meainingless ladder match. Every other segment, TNA grew, and that's something they should be proud of.
If it's true that they have someone competent in a power position like Tommy Dreamer, then only good things are in the future.
Who knew that TNA was spending more money in the wrong direction. Instead of spending it on more expensive talent to bring top guys in, they're not spending more on catering to bring Dreamer in.

After having ignored Impact for a pretty long time (since around the time Joe painted the "tribal" thing on his face and carried the knife), I started watching again about 2 weeks ago and I've thought these past couple of episodes have been better than mediocre, and at times even kind of interesting. Thumbs up; hope they keep improving.

I love the heated audience, however stupid they can be at times. I love the recognisable faces that turn up alot, even if they are plants. I love the small, enclosed environment, even though they need to strive to get out of Florida. I love the stage set, when the WWE changed theirs, they lost a real sort of 'uniqueness' to their shows. I love the wrestlers, every one of them has some sort of quality--even Jesse Neal (Shannon Moore is his only redeeming feature) I love the fast-paced matches, if worked well with the right people, a match of only five minutes can be a MOTY candidate. I love the GTV angles they're doing backstage, because it adds a little realism to the show. We have a camera peeping in on a half-open door instead of Fortune discussing how they're going to rip Hogan's head off right in front of a camera crew. I love the fact that Victory Road had my friend and me on the edge of our seats watching it. Every minute of it was amazing, they somehow made Bubba vs Jesse kinda interesting. Not to mention, ROB TERRY. KO match can screw off.Sure, there are a few tidbits that are nitpicky but for the majority? I don't really bother with the negativity, ride on it as much as you like, but when TNA has matches like we saw with Doug, Kendrick, BMinc and the Guns, it's a whole world more delivering than the WWE in my opinion. Sometimes the shows are a hit or a miss (either the worst f***ing tripe or the best f***ing thing), but as people were saying, the past few shows have been very good. TL;DR. TNA is pretty neat. Give it a chance. And then judge. {Spoiler}Don't watch if you're a Nigel McGuinness diehard.

I've been saying for about a month on here that Impact is currently the best wrestling show on TV. It pretty much has been ever since they gave up on the Monday junk and went back to Thursdays.

Thank goodness there is TNA, even if people say bad things about it...the good thing is that we get a different product which is worth watching. I really want TNA to succeed. Period

I use to be a huge TNA fan during the 04-07 run and a little of the 08; now I'm kinda hit and miss with them; they have their moments and like stated here, I am glad there is another product out there; despite if they can be bad at a lot of points; at least there is something else other than the WWE to watch

Right around Lethal Lockdown in April TNA has been booking a lot better. The first 3 months of the Hogan era sucked worse then the Russo only era of 2009. Then around April TNA got back to the mediocrity they had before Hogan got there.
However the last 3 weeks or so have been very good and the quality since April has gone up and has been much more consistent. I hope this trend continues (And reading the spoilers it looks like it at worst will be an average show) because TNA needs to thrive as if TNA thrives the whole wrestling landscape looks a lot better.
Well its good to see Dreamer booking well and I appreciation TNA for just being there.

There is a lot I love, a little I hate but, over the past few months TNA has been the most consistently entertaining of the Big 2.

I can always find myself enjoying TNA more than WWE, even if(which unless it's SmackDown is rare) WWE is putting on a better product. It's easier for me to root for the company that is actually TRYING something and taking risks, even if they fall flat on their face, than the company who is so complacent and has the monopoly so they can just cruise along and not take any risks or chances.

I love their roster, their matches, and their storylines. They're almost always one of the best wrestling shows on TV, even if they don't get much credit for it.
Just a side question, why is everybody so quick to give all the credit for the recent great quality to Tommy Dreamer? Hasn't it been confirmed that Russo's still firmly in control--at least for the time being. I know the guy's a bit of a dunderhead sometimes, but I'll give him his due...
He's got some pretty good ideas to go along with his hideous ones.

He's got some pretty good ideas to go along with his hideous ones. When he took over in July of 2009, the ratings went down in comparison to Jan-June. The ratings have been in the toilet for ages. And only recently, the ratings came back up, and it was around the same time it was announced that Tommy was put in control. That, and while Vince Russo is good with promos and characters, he knows how to write and book wrestling like I know how to write and book box office smash hit movies. It's too much of a coincedence.

Yeah I agree, but negativity and TNA hasn't only just been happening now, people have been negative about it for years, and I don't like reading people putting down a promotion I favour over WWE and a show that I can watch and enjoy, so I often stay out of this section. I appreciate that TNA are actually trying new things and are not content to be complacent. So what if they fail? They tried, they learned, they'll come back again wiser. I also appreciate that they're letting Douglas Williams wrestle for our promotion next Friday too . I appreciate that there is no holding back as far as in-ring work goes and that there's a healthy competition to have the best match on the show, I appreciate that the wrestlers can be themselves, have their own look, and develop their own character.
