Ok, I have watched TNA here and there but I have decided to start watching it tonight. The only problem is that I am afraid I will lose interest if I don't know whats going on. So...
1. Who are the champions?
2. What are the storylines?
Anything else included that I need to know would be great, too.

1. Who are the champions?
TNA Champion - Rob Van Dam
Tag Team Champions - Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin (known as Motor City Machine Guns, won the belts last sunday)
X-Division Champion - Douglas Williams
Global Championship - Rob Terry
Don't remember who holds the womens titles.
2. What are the storylines?
It sounds like tonight is going to be a new start for a lot of the major storylines so it's probably pointless to explain. TNA has a top 10 ranking system which should at least show you how strong people are being booked.

Not sure if they still recognize the women's tag championship anymore. However, it's still listed on the championships image on their website.

The Guns look like comic book side kick villians. ..in a good way.

Who are the champions? 2. What are the storylines? Anything else included that I need to know would be great, too. Oh Geez...where to begin? CHAMPS: RVD is the World Champ. Abyss is the Number One monster heel. They seem to be on a collision course. Motor City Machine Guns are the new tag Champs after chasing them for years. They beat main heel team Beer Money in a tournament final last Sunday. Doug Williams is the X-Division Champ but he (kayfabe) hates the X-Division high-flying style. He's a British-style mat wrestler. Rob Terry is the Global (secondary singles title) Champ. He had a Goldberg like-push but that seems to have slowed down. He was even pinned in a tag match last PPV so there went his winning streak. Angelina Love won the Knockout's Title from Madison Rayne controversially last Sunday. Look for Rayne demanding her belt back. STORYLINES: Jeff Hardy & Mr. Anderson are teaming up but no one fully trusts Anderson...even Jeff himself. Anderson is a self-admitted a-hole so he understands the mistrust. Anderson took out the popular Pope last April. Pope is back now and, even though Anderson has become a face in Pope's absence, Pope doesn't buy Anderson's crap and is still gunning for him. Former members of the original ECW (Dreamer, Raven, Richards, Rhino) seem to have formed a clique. No one knows why...yet. Ric Flair wants to form a New Age Horsemen team called "Fortune". AJ Styles & Kazarian seem to be Flair's number one boys but they can't get along with each other. It's like two kids fighting to be Daddy's favorite. Desmond Wolfe wants to be a part of fortune but Flair doesn't seem to be impressed. Wolfe is on a losing streak and having problems with his valet Chelsea. Jay Lethal is a thorn in Flair's side. Kurt Angle returned from a short hiatus and said he wanted to start at the bottom and make his way up to number one contender. He is currently #8. Look for Angle to challenge/face whomever is #7. Oh, and in a stupid twist, Angle has decided that if he loses along the way, he will retire for good.

Don't even bother trying to learn the storylines, they won't make any sense to you within a month anyhow.

Abyss turned heel a few weeks ago and almost made Hogan choke on his WWE Hall of Fame ring that the gave him (please don't ask me to explain, it's incredibily stupid)

I saw above some good update stuff in bullet form but if he hasn't watched before he might not know the gimicks so i shall try
RVD--RVD is you ever watched wrestling you know the whole F'n Show
AJ Styles--has won every male title in TNA and has been around since the promotion started. He is a high flyer but does have a workrate ala story telling and logic;a main event guy
Abyss--A poster once refered to him as "ManKane" as he bears a striking resemblence to the gimicks of Kane and Mankind; Monster heel, high pain tolorence, Main event guy also former champ
Matt Morgan--The "Blueprint" Big man that can move fast and pull a few high spots; Heel worker just under the main event
Beer Money--Great tag team. A Redneck Jame's Storm and an investment banker/Ted Debiase tribute; heel tag team
Motor City Machine guns--high flying tag team with great tandum moves and spots. Funny promos; babyface tag champs
Jay Lethal--One of the most beloved babyfaces in TNA. His gimick for years was being a wrestling mark and Macho man impersonator. Now goes by his name, just got the rub from Ric Flair on PPV; just under the main event mid-card babyface
Angelina Love--Knockouts(women's div) champ and tweener babyface. Former heel leader of a stable called the beautiful people
The X-Division--like cruiserweights in wcw used to be. Little utilized these days so as not to desencitize the audience. The Champion is a brit named Douglas Williams a heel who's current work is to make the X-Div wrsetlers actually use mat wrestling instead of high spots. Heel and champion
Desmond Wolfe--British Heel and stiff mat mechanic. Great technical skill. Currently in between pushes in a holding pattern; Upper mid-card
Samoa Joe--He's gonna kill you
The Pope Deangelo Denaro--Was Elijah Burke in WWECW. Now he is super over babyface that just came back from an injury that unfortunately stimied great heat he had gotten; Just outside the main event but very soon he will be back in it; Great on the mic
There is much more but these are the featured players lately

When you see Rob Terry, don't be alarmed. It IS possible for somebody to take that much steroids and still be classified as human.

A few additions to character write-ups:
Mr Anderson - Same gimmick as in WWE but obviously under different name. Started as heel and got good heat by being unlikeable and basicly a asshole. Which lead to a faceturn after a PPV-promo where he refered to himself and TNA-fans as assholes. It caught on and people started chanting it and cheering him. Now he's a tweener playing both sides. Had a feud-of-the-year candidate with Kurt Angle
Jeff Hardy - The Charismatic Enigma. How TNA morphed the second hottest babyface in the business at the time into "just another guy with facepaint" will forever be a mystery. Anyway he's near the mainevent where he should be trying to figure out if Mr Anderson can be trusted..
Kazarian - X-division high-flyer who recently turned heel and started to alligning himself with Flair and A.J. Still has the same moveset but acts as a classic heel with a descent douchbag aura.
Sting - Acted like a heel up until recent, mercilessly beating up Jeff Jarrett and everyone in his path. Suspended as of now.
Kevin Nash - Formed a stable called "The Band" with Scott Hall and Sean Waltman. Eric Young was recruted to the group when X-pac made his exit. Then Hall was fired too and the group was stripped of their tagtitles. Now Nash is on his own and has a bad rep for sticking up for his old buddies who both screwed up.
Jeff Jarrett - Is now just a wrestler besides being "the founding father of TNA" which he conviniently slips into every single promo. After a hiatus he had to earn his spot on the roster. Was involved in blood-feud with Sting who he felt had turned his back on TNA and the fans.

to be fair to TNA, they have been pushing Jeff as a top guy, but they really can't put him as THE guy until they know he isn't going to jail.
Well since Dreamer has (supposedly) taken over on the booking team, there has been more continuity in the storylines. Not as much jumping around as there has been in the past.

ICBM, just a slight variation I'd put on the Beer Money description.
I personally never thought of Roode as a Dibiase tribute, but more like a takeoff of JBL's persona after the APA breakup and the attitude/hair color change.

Well, they started the company eight years ago, and they had AJ Styles team up with a few people to face guys dressed like Elvis, and then Toby Keith hit Jeff Jarett with a suplex, and then Ken Shamrock became the first champion, and there was a fat guy named Cheex and........

Champions World Champion: RVD World Tag Team Champions: MCMG Global Champion (This title hardly is used anymore): Rob Terry Knockouts Champion: Madison Rayne Knockouts Tag: Lacey Von Erich & Velvet Sky
Storylines Abyss turned heel for the billionth time and went back to his hardcore ways, he carries around a 2x4 covered in nails (Seem familiar lmao) He keeps mentioning "There coming!" "They told me to do this"
ECW Originals Raven, Stevie Richards & Tommy Dreamer keep appearing in the crowd and watching matches.
Ric Flair started his 3rd or 4th attempt at creating another Horsemen stable called fortune; Beer Money, AJ, Kaz & Wolfe.
Jay Lethal has been feuding with Flair (and the group) and has dropped the MachoMan gimmick and is just himself.
Mr. Anderson turned into a "goofy" face and all his fans are now "assholes" ......YAWN!
Madison Rayne has became a breakout star from The Beautiful People and in promos over the last few Impacts, you can see jealously from Velvet Sky.
That's pretty much the jist of it.
EDIT: I just remembered what today is and this post is really no good, but what the hell.
