They should sign Matt Hughs...Hughs vs Angle In regards to this, I wouldn't be surprised. TNA is the desperate pervert at the bar, whose out on the dance floor doing all he can to get noticed in hopes of getting laid. It's sad but funny.

If Hogan DIDN'T book himself to win the belt while he's in TNA I'd be surprised.

This is from the poor man's Rajah, PWPIX, so take it with a truckload of salt. But really, would you be surprised if this ended up happening? {Spoiler}While original plans called for Rob Van Dam to retain his TNA World Heavyweight Championship in the 4-Way match at next month's Victory Road pay-per-view, there is now talk of Abyss winning the title. Hulk Hogan in particular is pushing for Abyss to win the strap. This would mean Hogan's match with Abyss at Bound for Glory would be with the title on the line.
Meanwhile, Van Dam's scheduled Bound for Glory match with Kurt Angle would be for the No. 1 contender's spot rather than the title.
A final decision has not been made but either Van Dam or Abyss will leave Victory Road as champion. I don't really care either way, but I'm sure that there are lots of you who would have strong opinions. If this is true either, 1) Hogan and Bischoff have NO CLUE whatsoever about today’s wrestling climate 2) Hogan and Bischoff just don’t give a f*** and are going through the motions. 3) Both!!

Even TNA wouldn't be this stupid. Unless Uncle Eric has put Eugene in charge of creative, that is.

I'm calling NEWZ!1 on this one, I just can't see this happening at all. I mean, it'd make sense since Hogan is big in Daytona Beach, but given that alone I am calling newz.

I would accept this in one scenario... {Spoiler}Scott Steiner comes out and lays them both out with Steiner-Lines. He grabs the mic and proceeds to cut a twenty-minute promo on Abyss, Hogan, and TNA in general in place of the main event.
Meltzer gives it five stars. But seriously, the best thing that could happen should that go ahead would be for Abyss to get put over like nobody's business. Have him kick out of or, even better, no-sell the leg drop. How incredible would that be? The Hulkster drops the leg, and as he's rolling over to cover...Abyss just sits right the f*** up, snorting in rage. He does a dark mirror of Hulking up, nailing Hogan with a few rights of his own. Irish whip, Black Hole Slam, and then he picks him up and hits the Shock Treatment for three. Hogan has to be stretchered out, and Abyss gets to rave about how "I KILLED HULKAMANIA! AFTER ALL THOSE YEARS...the Monster was the one that killed Hulkamania. Where's your savior now, Bischoff? Where's the Hulkster? I PUT HULK HOGAN IN RETIREMENT, WHERE HE BELONGS!" Abyss would be over as a heel for the rest of his life.

Said it before, I'll say it again. The day Hogan wins the belt is the day I switch off TNA, never to return

I can see Abyss winning the belt. I can see Abyss' monster heel push continuing on to BFG as champion. I can also see Hogan doing a double turn and saying "I know we need to take the big monster down, and once upon a time I'd have done this myself. But I'm not a wrestler anymore. I'm just not. Now it's time for one of the younger guys to step up to the plate and meet the challenge." Then giving the shot to Jay Lethal, Eric Young or someone else.
And if this happens, I would mark like a fool. As opposed to when Hogan walks away from BFG your NEW TNA CHAMPION. When I shall simply FEEL like a fool.

Fingerpoke of Doom 2010?
Sadly, I can see TNA in their infinite wisdom doing this.

He'll be more interesting than Rey Mysterio and Sheamus at least . But seriously, hope this doesn't happen, but I've spent the past near-decade putting up with John Cena and Triple H title runs, so this won't be a nail in the coffin unless he gets it for a long time. Props to them for actually trying to push one of THEIR guys, though.

This should be absurd enough that it could be dismissed out of hand, but with TNA being what it is it seems sickeningly plausible. Because everything TNA does seems to be aimed at the goal of getting people who haven't watched wrestling in 10-20 years to tune in out of curiosity.

The thing that angered me the most about this is how unfair this would be to RVD. Let's consider: TNA hotshots the belt onto RVD and threw confetti and hyped this like a big change in direction. In the initial weeks of his title run TNA ended up giving up on Mondays and ran back to Thursdays. Then he was put in a weak feud with Sting where Van Dam wasn't even a central focus since the heat was on Sting, Hogan, Bischoff, and Jarrett. Since Slammiversary, RVD hasn't even wrestled on Impact, not even being on one show, the next week briefly chasing Abyss, and then being a guest ref.
It seems like RVD hasn't been given anything decent to do as champ, so then Hogan and Bischoff can point to his run and say it was a flop. Hogan's machinations at times make no sense to me, like if this scenario did happen. Compare to 1993, where he conned Vince into giving him the belt at the end of WM 9. What was the point? It didn't even help Hulk in the long run.
