Just hearing that reason makes Joe Hennig's new name tolerable. I'm satisfied with this reasoning and I don't have to laugh at how ridiculous his name is anymore (maybe not as much).
Are you people (what do you mean 'you people', what do YOU mean 'you people'?) satisfied?

I dig it. There's a reason to it, it's illiterative, and it's somewhat akin to Rock using "Rocky Maivia" instead of something with the Johnson last name.

Works for me. I was just hoping for something as simple as "I started using it to make my own name and not ride my father's coattails".

All these years! We thought it was Dreamer who knocked her up! But, it was Perfect! Raven was mad at Dreamer for no reason! Son of a bitch.

So what was Husky Harris' reason? He named himself after his favorite Police Academy character?

So what was Husky Harris' reason? He named himself after his favorite Police Academy character? He's riding the coattails of Ron and Don Harris because his favorite tag team of all time is not Money, Inc. It's not Varsity Club pairings. Oh no. It's Jacob and Eli Blu.

Husky Blu sounds like the name of a new soft drink. Try the refreshing taste of Husky Blu! Their official mascot is a burly bearded frontiersman.

Maybe Harris is a first name and not a last? As in Husky Harris Rotunda. Either way Mike McGillicutty is still a lame name regardless of whether it really is his mom's maiden name. It's like Katy Perry using Perry (mom's maiden name) instead of her real name (Hudson), but there's already a Kate Hudson.

Poor Joe. Now everybody knows his mother's maiden name, so he will certainly be a victim of identity theft very soon.

I did a google search for 'Leonice McGillicutty (in quotes) Hennig' (Hennig was outside the quotes) and I got no results. I also did a search for just 'Leonice McGillicutty' (without also putting hennig in the search) and I got nothing. That doesn't mean that wasn't her maiden name, though. It is possible this was WWE's attempt at explaining it and not actually true.

Because logically, it made no sense for him to admit it, tell us about it, then say "But forget that!"

So what was Husky Harris' reason? He named himself after his favorite Police Academy character? I think its just plain to avoid confusion over whether its "Rotundo" or "Rotunda". That's also probably why his Dad seems to prefer to go by Irwin R. Shyster.

The name didn't bother me; it's more natural, for me, to think of his father as "Mr. Perfect" than "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig, in terms of his WWF/WWE stints.
