Being hardcore fans, has there been a point where house shows are boring ? For me, iv been watching it for so many years that I can predict everything that is going to happen at a house show. I guess it is good for kids who haven't experienced one before.

I've only been to one house show myself, and only three shows total - other two were Invasion and the 6/6/06 SmackDown taping with the last Velocity and first return of Kennedy.
Still, yeah, I always avoided house shows because I figured they were boring and pointless, but at the one I actually had a lot of fun.

Personally, I enjoy being around the little kids who have never been to one and interacting with them all. I remember in March, a bunch of little kids were saying Goldust was old and slow during one of his matches. I talked to them and told them that Goldie was my favorite, that he was Cody's big brother, and pointed out different aspects of the way he does things in the ring. By the time his match was over, I had created three new little Goldust marks.

Eh, I figure it's always a fun opportunity to see and hear WWE Superstars up close. I love to see their interactions with the crowd and the improv stuff they do with the front-row fans.
Also, you sometimes get some surprise matches and one-off stuff (like how last summer RICKY STEAMBOAT worked with Drew McIntyre on house shows).
Last summer I got to see Tommy Dreamer pin Sheamus clean with a DDT, which was weird in hindsight.

As the dark match for the last Velocity I mentioned, I got to see the all-time great jobber showdown of Funaki vs. Mike Knox (just before Knox debuted, naturally). Funaki won, if curious.

At a Smackdown I went to in 2002, I saw Rey Mysterio have a dark match. Way before his debut, and the crowd popped huge.

If I had a choice between TV and a house show, I would always pick the house show.
At the house shows, wrestlers are able to try stuff out - both match and promo-wise- to see if it'll "work" for television, etc.
I attended a house show in early 2004 during the JEricho/Christian/Trish arc, where jericho ended up winning Trish.
I got to hear Y2J's promo on Trish post-WMXX, which went over well at a house show and was used through an entire commercial break on a Raw a few weeks later.
You'll get to see guys even before their dark matches - I got preliminary looks at the Simon Dean character, the Spirit Squad (When it was only Kenny and Mikey), Tatanka before his return, David Hart-Smith before his first tv debut (2006), Kerwin White before it hit tv, Kevin Thorne, CM Punk before his AWESOME debut in Hammerstein....
The wrestlers have the freedom to interact more with the crowds at these shows. This can range from "taking suggestions" from the audience (getting Charlie Haas to put a keylock on someone, for example) to using local events to their advantage (Santino Marella incorporated the Italian festival going on near WesBanco arena in Wheeling into his promo that night).
You might also get a good sampling of the ridiculous, such as wrestlers getting ribbed on their b-days (announcers are not immune - Justin Roberts got thoroughly ribbed at two separate shows I've attended) indisciminate pantsing (your mileage may vary) and wrestler wackiness in general (Cena getting Festus to sing "Country roads" to a WV crowd while Batista looked on with his best "Are you kidding me?" face).
This kinda stuff they wouldn't be able to do or get away with when the cameras are on.

I just feel I must reiterate how much I love house shows. From the people you meet to the crowd interaction, it's all amazing.
Then again, it seriously may depend on the area you're in. The San Francisco Bay Area has a pretty amusing crowd.

House shows are usually fun, and are definitely worth checking out for any wrestling fan. The ones held in smaller venues have an "indy show" feel to them. And, like others have said, you sometimes get to see new talent before they appear on television. I saw Deuce & Domino (with Cherry) at a January 2007 house show. And at a house show in March of 2007, I got to see SEVERAL wrestlers who hadn't appeared on TV yet. I saw Vladimir Kozlov (vs Eugene), Curt Hawkins & Zach Ryder (as the Major Brothers vs The Highlanders), and Kofi Kingston vs Johnny Nitro (Morrison)!!! all on the same house show!!! None of those men had even appeared TV yet (though Kozlov did previously appear in the Raw audience during his "Double Double E" phase), and Kingston vs Morrison is a future MAIN EVENT, and I saw it at a house show in one of Kofi's first matches in the company. So I highly recommend checking out a house show when one comes to your area.

One house show I would love to go to is Tyler, TX. I heard you can bring an ice chest of beer into that venue.

I love house shows. They seem to flow alot better than tv tapings or live raws. Plus you see wrestlers trying new gimmicks and actually having fun with the crowd.

I have been to three house shows (not counting TNA), my first ever event was a WWF house show and the main event was Undertaker vs. HBK for the WWF title and Undertaker hit the tombstone and the ref counted 3 and the match continued, haha poor Earl Hebner.
Now a days for me, I rather just go to a Raw taping or a PPV. House shows are cool to go to if you can't afford to go to neither Raw or a PPV and like stated at a house show, you have the wrestlers interact with the crowd (Not like in TNA after the show) but it's still a fun experience for someone who has never been to a WWE event.

They are always fun to go to and if you get lucky you might get to see a great match or 2. I've heard someone saying they were at a house show where HHH and Shawn Michaels had a 40 minute match with both of them blading!!!

House Shows may be fun, but it's definitely not the best way to introduce a girlfriend to live shows.

Yeah, I've been to two house shows and one mega show. I think they can have more fun at a house show, and more wrestling and less promos.

House Shows may be fun, but it's definitely not the best way to introduce a girlfriend to live shows. Funny you should say that. My girlfriend took me and her little brother to a Smackdown house show last year and they both thought it was the most awesome thing ever. If it wasn't for the fact that I had been to December to Dismember (in the same arena actually) it would've been the worst show I'd been to. It wasn't terrible, there just wasn't anything exciting going on. There was a decent Benjamin vs. MVP match, and I finally got to see Taker but other than that it was boring as hell. That said, I've seen some house show results that looked really awesome. Sometimes the wrestlers do some pretty cool stuff that hey wouldn't do no TV. You also get to see guys that are going to be debuting in the near future. Plus the matches are usually given time, so if the card is good then you're gonna get a good show. It just so happens that the one I went to had a terrible card b/c Smackdown's roster was pretty bad at the time. Here's the card... *The Great Khali b. Chavo Guerrero * Michelle McCool b. Eve Torres * Festus b. Jimmy Wang Yang * WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito & Primo b. The Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson * R-Truth b. Eric Escobar * WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin b. MVP * The Undertaker & Jeff Hardy b. Big Show & Umaga

Put it this way. The Raw and SD house shows I went to on the Autumn 08 UK tour, I can list the cards from memory. The Raw TV taping I went to in the following April? The matches were so short and forgettable that I have to go look it up. Smackdown 10/11/08 (ECW was being taped before Raw that night, so they weren't there) Carlito v The Brian Kendrick The Great Khali v Ryan Braddock Maria and Michelle McCool v Maryse and Natalya US Title Triple Threat: Shelton Benjamin (c) v Primo Colon and R-Truth Jeff Hardy v MVP -Intermission- Ezekiel Jackson v Kung Fu Naki WWE Championship Triple H v Vladimir Kozlov Last Man Standing Match: Undertaker v Big Show Raw 11/11/08 Intercontinental Championship: William Regal (w/ Layla) v Santino Marella Snitsky v D'lo Brown Women's Championship: Candice Michelle v Beth Phoenix (Mickie James as special guest referee) Haas Hogan v Kane World Tag Team Championship: CM Punk and Kofi Kingston v Cody Rhodes and Manu -Intermission- Rey Mysterio v Randy Orton (Kelly Kelly as Guest Ring Announcer) Shawn Michaels v JBL World Heavyweight Championship: Batista v Chris Jericho Hmm, out of 40 wrestlers appearing on the shows, for which spots usually go to the valued parts of the roster. 17 are no longer with the company.
