How many times is the WWE going to insult our intelligence? Tonight they have introduced to us two new NXT rookies who they admit have famous dads but made up names for them. Between that and constantly calling worldwide known talents new (and stupid) names. Who else is sick of this?

I'd care more if they had appeared onscreen in another league.

Yeah, I know. And why doesn't the WWE just call Scott Stapp by his real name instead of "Eli Cottonwood?" Don't they think people are going to figure it out?

You know, I don't understand why they even want to give the wrestlers crappy fake names. The biggest stars in WWE over history have owned their names. WWE may have had copyrights on certain nicknames or whatever, but for the most part their biggest stars used the same names that they had in other promotions before WWE. Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels all have rights to their names. The majority of the other big stars were given really cool names to match their gimmicks and it worked great. Triple H, The Undertaker, Mankind, Kane.
Now considering all of that, think of this. Diesel and Razor Ramon sparked the competitions biggest boom period using their real names.
Basically what I'm saying is that I can understand not using a wrestlers real name (or name they came up with before signing) if the new name is actually good. Turning Joe Hennig into Michael McGillicutty is beyond stupid. Are they seriously going out of the way to make new people sound as nonthreatening as possible?

At least Lucky said that was a nickname that just stuck.

It really wouldn't be fair for these Rookies to get the fans' vote just because of their daddy's legacy. Also, Vince doesn't want them to use their real names to get famous anywhere else before they make him $$$ with the WWE.

Because WWE gave up on the idea of "Your ring name is your real name" LONG ago.
How many times have we heard Vince and Stephanie refer to HHH as "Paul"?

His thing will be that he's trying to make a name on his own, so he chose that name, purposely ridiculous as it is, as a way to distance himself from his father.
Kofi will rag on him the whole time."

It's weird, you would think the sons of Mike Rotundo and Mr. Perfect would be good enough having their own names, but they instead give them goofy names, YET even show their fathers and still go with it. I could see it if they wanted to make their own career paths and didn't want to coast by on their names, but...it's just idiocy in the end. Really.

Remember though....they go by a new name, they don't get their real name trademarked & screwed by Vince next year when they get released at the Post-Wrestlemania Spring Cleaning Party.

You think the Rotundo's would been allowed to keep them being that there dad is an road agent for the company. I wonder when they call Richie Steamboat what they call him up. How to pass a guy who looks JUST like Ricky Steamboat a different name.
