Aww, there's a new angel in heaven...
...IN HELL!
Let me tell you a story. Precedent states that up and comers on SmackDown will be drafted, traded, or otherwise given to Raw. It's just destiny. And then after one or two attempts at exposure, they'll be lost in the shuffle and relegated to backstage vignettes.
That's why I have no faith whatsoever in A.D.R.'s chances.

While I don't like ADR, he's not going anywhere. Smackdown's trying to beef up it's roster, and Alberto already has decent heel heat, so he'll probably get an IC run before his rookie year ends.

I disagree, I have a feeling Alberto Del Rio will become a big deal, fairly quick.
Of course when he wins the World Title by putting Taker trew a taybow in December, he will instantly be hated.

It's almost heartwarming. Almost.

With Smackdown moving to Syfy and actually being on a channel that more than 11 people get, I don't think the trend of Smackdown being the clear-cut B-show will continue. Of course Raw will always be the flagship, but the new TV deal will allow the WWE to spread the wealth a bit more and guys like Alberto will have room to thrive. Dos y cero!

I think they will try to retain the Hispanic audience that they already have in SD on Fridays so at least til the end of the year then they might give up on it if its not working.

I think the move to SyFy is going to take care of that. I remember reading back in 2008 that Rey Mysterio was upset about being moved to RAW, because many of their Hispanic viewers didn't have cable, and could only watch him on SmackDown. With SyFy being a cable network, that might be the end of that.

I hope not. This is one of my favorite guys to come across the WWE in a long time. As long as they can maintain the momentum of his character and personality, then I think he can do some great stuff.

Remember when Muhammad Hassan and Carlito debuted? They had vignettes and were treated like big deals (fairly quickly). I can't help but compare Del Rio's position to their's when they first came long.

I can't help but compare Del Rio's position to their's when they first came long. Don't remember either of them coming in and feuding with a main eventer, a guy who had the World Title like a month prior, right off the bat. Hell, Hassan's debut match was against Jerry Lawler, wasn't it?

He'll do well. There are some new guys who they've given a push (Sheamus, McIntyre) who I haven't been able to see, at first, what they've seen in them. Sheamus I can, now, although I still think they've done the wrong thing in giving him the belt to get him over. Should be the other way around, but that's a whole other argument. McIntyre, on the other hand, I still can't see what the 'E see in him.
Now, Alberto Del Rio - I haven't been watching Smackdown lately, so I didn't see the vignettes. But in his match with Rey, and the beatdown the week after, all I could think was 'this guy has got it'. Classic sleazy latino heel, with great facial expressions. I'm not sure if he could go ALL the way to the top, but he should carve out a decent career - if he doesn't, WWE are dropping the ball, because you can't tell me there's no use for what he has.

I dunno. There's a lot of guys who get pushed as big deals, fairly quickly. Most of them don't catch on so much, but of those a lot of them eventually make it big... just not fairly quickly.

Nah, I have faith in Del Rio. Plus the wwe seem to really like him and have wanted him for a while so obviously there's something there. And he should just stay on Smackdown for a long, long time. I don't see him on RAW at all.
