I still don't understand what lead to his sudden release. In the Tough Enough competition, he slapped a Kimura on Kurt Angle and would have snapped his arm in two like a Pretzel Stick if the ref's quick thinking hadn't got him to make the count. (I'm surprised Angle didn't kick his ass afterwards.)
Then after he won, his character turned into an arrogant dick who thought he was God Almighty just because he won a contract and was able to compete in the Royal Rumble. He ended up rubbing anyone who came in contact with him the wrong way with his arrogant behavior, including Hardcore Holly. (Though he did verbally own Holly..which was awesome.) But after he was eliminated in the Rumble by Holly...he vanished. Months later out of nowhere, he gets s*** canned.
What happened that lead to his release? Did he have attitude issues? Because I had the feeling he probably bragged to everyone about his new contract and so forth that management decided to give him the boot..or maybe after The Rumble, creative had nothing for him and decided he wasn't worth it and released him.
Anyone have any answers?

Not sure, but I remember him being thrown to the wolves in the Rumble. Benoit, Eddie, and Holly chopped the ever loving hell out of him.

Bob Holly didn't screw Daniel Puder. Daniel Puder screwed Daniel Puder.

I know he did some MMA for a while. He has an 8-0 record but his last fight was...last year. So I have no clue what he's up to now.

I've always heard he was a major league dick backstage. My guess is that he thought he was better than everyone else because he was a legit fighter before he came there. Plus the Kurt Angle situation probably didn't help.

I've never understood why people think Puder like demolished Angle and he had to escape. Angle pinned him. Angle then jumped up and got in Puder's face and was like, "This isn't MMA, this is shoot wrestling and you got right on your back with me on top." It's rewriting history to say Puder was going to win.

It's rewriting history to say Puder was going to win. Puder had locked in a Kimura and was about to snap Angle's arm or force Kurt to tap when a quick thinking ref did a bogus 3 count to end the encounter. Go back and watch the tape. If shooting on a top star isn't reason enough to get kicked to the curb then I don't know what would be.

That interview makes him seem like a total ass in my opinion. He brags about hurting Kurt, but at least we know who remained in the big time after that.

He had a pretty decent run in OVW after he was sent down after the Royal Rumble. Mr. Anderson/Kennedy was his hype man and would do the ring introduction for him, and he had the Riggs Brothers as his backup. Team Puder was fun.
I also remember him doing a few ROH shows in early 2008.

Yeah but it wasnt an MMA match it was amature wrestling and there are no submission holds in wrestling.

He had the choice of taking the downside of his tough enough contract or continuing on with WWE and he chose the contract.
