I'm watching Cole talk right now, and he starts off his thing by saying "IMPACT means...." with a gigantic amount of emphasis on the word impact.
Which I am going to say has a 90% chance of meaning absolutely nothing but that can so be used for newz fodder.

WWE could have changed the finish to Kaval's match and maybe even eliminate him instead if they had a problem with it.

Am I the only one who thinks they made him say it?
If you're successful with the internet crowd then usually you're made to say something outlandish that 80% of the audience won't get. Case in point - Danielsons worked shoot after he got cut from NXT.

NXT's trying to establish itself as the dangerous, unscripted, unpredictable brand, but he had permission, or he wouldn't have done it, period. It's ridiculous for them to act like he wasn't in TNA, since even though their shows don't do the WWE's ratings, it's certainly more visible than anything Danielson did in the US, and they wouldn't shut up about that stuff. It fits into his storyline, too. It just plays up Cole's anti-indie, anti-non-WWE character and gives him more reasons to be mad at Kaval. It also furthers his character, since the deal is supposed to be that he was talented, but dull and lacking confidence, but Laycool's helped him get over it (i.e. We fixed your boring guy and made him cool, TNA).
Also, does he freestyle, for real? Some of the lines were prepared, but some seemed genuinely freestyled.

I read something about this. Basically, it seems like it was a shot at TNA and that's about it, lol.

If WWE is having their wrestlers take shots at TNA I honestly think it's almost as embarrassing as TNA having its wrestlers take shots at WWE.
But that's just me.
...Actually, you know what? I lied. WWE, take as many shots at TNA as you want. It'll maybe get more people watching it. The people who had heard of TNA but haven't ever watched it. I DARE YOU, WWE.

I was mixed on Kaval's little rap. I enjoyed the shot at TNA because I like when wrestling companies acknowledge one another, but Kaval's rap was otherwise really bad. I mean, the idea of Kaval trying to rap is great. But the rap itself was just bad.
Best part of the show was Michael Cole listing the differences between Matt Striker and Zach Ryder. Too funny.

I saw it as a way to get back at TNA for saying "ECW" on the Hardcore Justice PPV. (Of course, the WWE could always sue them, you know. ) I actually got a good laugh out of it. It was better that what Cena tried to pass off as "Comedy" when he made fun of the Nexus on Raw.

I expect a bunch of NEWZ items about his NOOKLEER HEETZ brought to you in association with CM Punk. Punk could be trapped inside a freezer room and still get nuclear heatz. I expect a story about Kaval, a pipe wrench, and an attack on MVP. <Space Ghost> "Who killed MVP? With a Wrench?" </Space Ghost> God that was violent! I blame..the sea.

As a freestyle (which is what it was at least trying to be passed off as) it was in fact pretty decent.

As a hip hop fan his flow was one of the more genuine hip hop moments in the E. He had a good flow, good punchlines and was funny. As for what he said, do people really think it was unscripted or that he didn't get it cleared? The rest of the night didn't show it. If he crossed some line...they could have had Husky completely dominate him, instead he got an impressive win. The only odd thing was Josh agreeing with Cole but he kind of seemed reluctant about it. The one thing i learned from NXT s1 though is the show is meant to work the internet. And they do it perfectly.

Daniel Bryan wasn't saved by an internet campaign, he was saved because they never really wanted to fire him in the first place. Which seems very plausible given his being allowed to work dates while under a No Compete clause, etc. Matt Hardy would be a better example of someone who was rehired due to outcry. I could've sworn Hardy was rehired because of creative wanting to do that whole 'Love Triangle' storyline

It was awesome. My favorite point wasn't when he did the TNA bit, but rather when he completely skipped Riley over before transitioning back to him, filled with this air of "Oh yeah, you..."
Promos like that which are just plain fun are kind of rare treats for me these days. I was happy to see them let him say what he did, because it was brilliant.

i think that Josh being anti-Kaval had nothing to do with Kaval. Josh agreeing with Cole, i felt was to show that they are supposed to be buddies, I mean aren't they co-beer pong champions or something. Their banter is a lot more friendly than most face/heel announcers, that is if Cole is supposed to be a heel. When Cole was doing his heel anti-Daniel Bryan shtick King didn't give him any of the feedback that Josh does. Their high five sealed it.

It was aight for a freestyle until he forgot Riley's NXT/FCW-ized name. I don't want to hear a verse 2, quite frankly.

I think we're all missing the bigger picture here. Season 3 of NXT: Rap battle between Kaval and William Regal. Ratings soar.
