So sad. Especially the fact that he leaves behind two young kids.

Didn't WWE just re-sign him not too long ago?
I always thought he had a lot of talent and potential, and could have made it big had he stayed clean. While this is certainly tragic, I'm somehow not quite shocked, given the plane incident that led to his release.
RIP, Lance.

This is a shocker. Such a young guy and was doing well during the Jericho/HBK feud. I wasn't even aware that he was released from developmental. I don't know if he would have been a main eventer, but he had a lot of potential to be a great upper-mid card guy.
R.I.P. and my condolences go out to his family.

JR just said on Twitter that it was from heart failure. Yeah, WWE issued a statement saying the same.

While I feel bad for his family, in particular his daughters, I can't say that I'm shocked, not because of his past drug issues but because so many wrestlers have died in the last 10 years or so that it was really only a matter of time until another one went. That is not a good feeling.
RIP Lance Cade; another one gone too soon.

Always sad to hear about a wrestler dying. But 29?
That's far too young.
RIP

Actually, I feel like deaths in wrestling have slowed down quite a bit lately.

Very sad. I have become numb to these type of things, but it was sad hearing that he reached out to WWE for help and sad hearing that he leaves behind two daughters.

I heard him a few months ago on The Bolin Alley with Kenny Bolin on Who's Slamming Who. He sounded fine. I know he has a history of drug use, but, wow, another tragic passing in wrestling.
Heart failure shouldn't happen to anyone at 29. I remember in that interview something that bothered me. When Cade was in developmental, people were talking about how he didn't have the passion. However, Cade would drive from Cincinnati to Louisville just to wrestle. Also, he started taking steroids, and for some strange reason, management talked about how he started to get passion. So, did Cade's wrestling ability change in just 3 months?
He said he was off the steroids though, and said that he's lucky he didn't get on them hard, as guys end up having problems keeping a normal level of testosterone.
Another issue of course is pain pills and recreational drugs, and I know things are just suspect at this point, but these are issues that need to be addressed immiedately. Cade was fired in the middle of a push after passing out on a plane due to drug issues. It's just, another sad day in wrestling.

Awful news. He was a talented guy, and during his work with Y2J and HBK he looked certain to be a future main eventer. I guess his troubles caught up with him.
And two young kids? No-one's father should pass away at such a young age.
RIP

I was so happy for him for his part in the HBK/Jericho feud, then it all fell apart for him. Such a shame. You'll be missed, Lance.

That's an absolute shame, I always liked Cade and thought he could have been huge but sadly the same old story played out again. RIP Lance.
