Okay no one call me an idiot for not knowing...your not an idiot for not knowing some random piece of info...
But I was looking at someones "custom made" D-X video (which was really just the old D-X vid with some new clip added every 55 seconds) and the dude said that it "couldnt be taken down for copyright infringement cause he made it himself"...
Now is that true? Or does using any WWE clips count?

I'm pretty sure that there's some sort of "fair use" policy for that kind of stuff, as long as it's not redistributed for cash.

My advice would be to look it up to know for sure. Wikipedia probably has something good on it.

He didn't make it, he edited it. I can't cut up a Simpsons episode, splice in episodes of an older episode, put the end-product on youtube, and then expect the video to be considered fair use. Very good point. I really can't disagree, although I still think "music videos" and what not fall under fair use in the copyright protection act (I know that's probably not the name, but I can't be arsed to look up the official name). I don't think YouTube is going to ask questions or challenge litigation if a company sends a cease and desist their way.

I Believe the WWE Has control of all Video footage as copyrighted material so using any of the Footage in any way is considered infringement.
