I'm currently in an argument as to whether or not the two moves are the same or not.
Wikipedia lists the Rocker Dropper as a "Wrist Lock Leg Drop Bulldog" while listing the Fameasser as just a "Leg Drop Bulldog", but I swear half the time it looked the same anyway.
Also, is "Famouser" a valid alternate name, or was it always just the Fameasser?

There's a difference.
Marty would hold the opponent's arm up. Billy wouldn't.

"Famouser" is just the PG-term for the "Fame-ass-er." In my opinion.
Also, another difference is the Famouser has never crippled a jobber. To the best of my knowledge.

Marty and Billy applied the similar move in different ways. Marty stood beside the wrestler and always held the opponent's arm. Billy (once he got more comfortable with the move) would have a little running start toward an opponent who was already sort of leaning over and Billy quickly put his hand on them and then jumped up to execute the move. In the end they are not executed the same way, but they are still about the same move. I think Billy's looks a little more exciting if done well.

I always assumed it was "Fameasser" the whole time. It was just that whenever any of the announcers would say the name, it would just sound like "famouser," so online fans would spell it that way and such. One night Billy Gunn was cutting a promo and said "fame-ASS-er!" with very strong enunciation on "ass" almost as if he was fed up with the miscommunication. That's what I felt, anyway.

That was a conversation between two deeply pathetic people.

That was a conversation between two deeply pathetic people. Indeed. It's just absurd how Kip blames her for "ruining his life", he's the one who cheated.

Actually, I believe famouser was just so other people could use the move without the direct tie to the ass man gimmick. Also I believe the word ass is pg.

I think in times when the name of the move appeared in print like on WWF.com or on video game move lists it was called the Fame-Asser, I don't believe I have seen WWE ever spell it "Famouser."

Is there any move in the history of wrestling with a worse name than the "Fame-Asser". It makes me angry just looking at it.

Shannon Moore uses the rocker dropper, you hook the arm then drop. The fameasser that Dolph uses is a leaping legdrop sort of axe kick.
He does get some rediculous height on it like Billy Gunn. I love the move personally.

Essentially it is a front bump where the wrestler is supposed to fall to the mat. I believe (and the previous poster may be able to confirm) that Charles Austin tried to perform some kind of frontward roll or something.

He looked like he was scared to fall flat on his face and he pulled back at the last minute, and when Marty Jumped his weight pulled Austin forward and he landed on the top of his head like a piledriver.
