I rather like Daniel Bryan and all (based solely on his WWE work, at that; I never cared for what I saw of his indy stuff), but am I alone in not particularly wanting to see Bryan win the US title?
Clearly going to happen at Night of Champions, yeah, but I alone in preferring to see.... Just about anybody else beat Miz for it, really? Bourne or Truth in particular.
Just thought I'd ask, kind of curious where people stand on that.

Whoever it is, just have them defend it.

I'm okay with it. They do need to get it off Miz, assuming they want to get the WWE strap on him. Come to think of it, I'm not so sure.

DBD beats Miz for the US Title, everyone thinks he tucked tail and left the building out of shame. Then when we least expect it, the music hits and the case is cashed in.

Having him lose it to Bryan at NOC then cash in the MITB at the end of the night and win the World Title would be perfect.

Put it on Dragon and let him have a bunch of solid lower-midcard matches. I doubt we'll be seeing him as a main eventer, outside of briefly during this angle... at least for a while.

My problem isn't Miz losing the title, it's Bryan winning it; just saying that while a Bryan fan, I don't think it'd be a good thing to give him the title, or at least not so quickly. I'd rather it go to Bourne or Truth or something, or one of the Nexus guys.

As long as he's involved in this Nexus feud, he doesn't need a belt. The purpose of a belt is to have a ready-made angle. You have a belt, someone else is trying to take it from you. So far, the Nexus angle doesn't have much of anything to do with any championships; it's its own thing, no titles needed for it to have a point of contention for all these dudes to fight each other over.

He is going to blindside the current champ or take advantage of them being in a bad spot, but having him lose a lower title and win a bigger one that night just doesn't make sense unless it's something like a "Can Lose On A DQ" stip match and Miz purposely causes himself to lose.

Yes, I very much want Daniel Bryan to become the American Dragon in every sense of the word.

Miz loses and is understandably livid. They have a blood feud for the US title and then after that Miz moves on to the World Title picture.

Sure, the storyline seems to be heading in that direction, but that doesn't mean it has to happen that way. WWE doesn't get enough credit for making "logical twists" sometimes, and having solid endings the other times.

I think they may set up for it by Daniel Bryan costing Miz in the MITB cash-in, considering what happened at Summerslam.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bryan just jobs to Miz. They have been pushing Miz to the moon right now, and while it makes sense to get the US Title off of him to put him in the main event, they could easily just keep the US title on him to make him look more credible as a wrestler. God knows they don't care about midcard (or lower mid card) titles anyways.

He's the best guy for the role of US champion IMO. I think the US title, much like the IC title should be reserved for guys that can put on exciting matches. Guys that are either not ready for a world title, or are former world champions elevating the belt and the other contenders. Also, something about the American Dragon being US champion seems fitting. PLUS, it needs to happen after all the trash talking Miz has done.
I say have Danielson beat Miz for the belt at Night of Champions, and have Miz cash in MITB later in the night. It ends the Miz and Danielson's feud, opening both guys up for bigger things. It gives Danielson a title. Gives Miz his first WWE title. And nobody leaves the show looking bad (besides maybe the loser of the original WWE title match).
