In what way does the R.K.O actually hurt the opponent? In kayfabe obviously.
Now I know the Stone Cold Stunner drives the opponents jawbone into Austin's shoulder which knocks them out for the count.
But what about the R.K.O? Is it a 3/4 neckbreaker where the opponent is driven flat onto their belly so that their windpipe/neck hits Randy's shoulder?
Or is it a facebuster? After last nights RKO on the table I presume that is what it is as what advantage would there be to R.K.Oing someone on a table (& injuring yourself more) rather than the canvas unless the opponents face was going to make contact?

It makes a loud noise when he hits the mat, thus shocking his opponent's central nervous system.

Think of it this way.
Orton is insane. He delivers the R.K.O. full-force, knowing it'll hurt him as much as it hurts his opponent. It's just that Orton, like Patrick Swayze in Road House, doesn't believe pain hurts.

It's being yanked off your feet onto your neck. Ow. The drop and the neck-crack both stun you.
