Shawn Michaels was asked on his new Twitter account:
i heard that you were upset at Vince about Bryan Danielson's firing is that true? also is it true you trained him?
Shawn's reply: I did train him.no I wasn't mad i didn't even know till 2wks later as I was huntin in ND not really my biz really.
--
So no angry phone call to Vince about it, so no banning Shawn mentions (which was ridiculous anyway) and the internet is wrong about wrestling again.
I think I should not pay attention to what I read online anymore. Even from the 'credible' sources.

Are trying to tell me the dirt sheets used basic observation on HBK's profile on WWE programming being lowered and Danielson's firing as a means to connect the 2 story together just for the web hits and newsletter buys? Shocking! I really thought Michaels called up Vince all pissed off about Dragon being fired and Vince retaliated by giving HBK the Benoit treatment. Damn Rajah!! Last time I trust you.

I get the impression that Shawn wouldve been pissed, but not to the point where he wouldve raised an issue with anyone.

I get the impression that the only time Michaels truly cared about Bryan Danielson was when Shawn initially cleared Dragon's check, clearing him to train in TWA.
This business about guys in the wrestling business having morals and values is hilarious. Everybody's a mark for themselves, and only themselves.

Hunting? He's ok with that? Why wouldn't he be? He's a Texan. Besides he's got dominion over the fish of the sea and the fowl of the air and all the creeping things that creep upon the earth!

I for one am absolutely shocked. If I can't believe anything from an internet wrestling news site, what can I believe? It's going to be a long time before I come to terms with this revelation.

I think you're moving a little too much to the opposite extreme here. A poster not too long ago brought up that Danielson said in a Q&A after one of his recent indie dates that he talks to Shawn fairly often. I didn't believe the initial report that Shawn was pissed about Danielson's firing, but I doubt he doesn't care for Danielson, because even merely on a teacher-student level, every teacher is proud of their best students, and when your student is considered one of the very best in the industry, I'd say you'd be at least somewhat proud and want the best for them.

To the op two things:
A: Perhaps a less condescending title next time
B: You "proved" the Internet wrong by quoting something else you found........on the Internet

hey look, i think Shawn stint as a trainer was pretty short right. and it's not like he actively pushed for Bryan to be in the WWE. I think after training, it's pretty much upto the students to find their feet. it's not like our college professors are actively looking out for our careers are they?
would he be puzzled by the firing? yes. Upset? No because it's not his career that's been jeopardised. plus, if there's anyone who knows that a vince firing isn't the end of a career, it's shawn.

Was Shawn supposed to be rending his garments and gnashing his teeth over Danielson? Bryan's a grown man. As Shawn said, what would it be his business really? Also gotta say I don't get the whole anti-hunting posts thing either, but eh.

Not sure if it came across that way, but what you just said is the point I was trying to make. (Just being sarcastic about it.) I mean, Michaels is an established guy and I'm sure Bryan Danielson prides himself as the kind of person to get his own foot in the door, and not called in favors.

The title struck me as unnecessarily smug and rubbed me the wrong way a bit, as does the relentless criticism of insider reporters who are arguably far more clued up about what goes on backstage than any of the people who seem to have this ridiculous superiority complex about insider news.

You guys are taking the title of a message on an internet message board way too seriously. No, I will refuse to give respect towards a bunch of schmoes who just copy and paste from the two actual wrestling journalists who do actual research and investigative journalism.
