I really loved that I Quit match, even though it was pretty short. The rest of the card is a blur.

Give me Summerslam 92, 97, 98, 2000, and 2002 instead.

I personally liked the PPV from top to bottom. Worst match on the card had to be Booker and Batista and even that wasn't AWFUL. All the other matches I found very much enjoyable. It's certainly better than 2007's installment.

Give me Summerslam 92, 97, 98, 2000, and 2002 instead. Add in 2001 as well! Hell, 2008 sounded better, and I didn't enjoy the PPV at first. 2006 though was the first PPV my sis saw bell-to-bell, so it doesn't hold a sour spot in me,

Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero: Sigh, I hate this angle. (ECW Title) The Big Show vs. Sabu: Decent match but botch-heavy. My favourite is the table spot where the camera angle clearly sees Sabu check that he landed correctly and THEN start selling it. Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Orton: Decent enough nostalgia match with a great angle leading up to it. A nice cap to Hogan's runs and Orton's Legend Killer angle. I Quit Match: Ric Flair vs. Mick Foley: Graet for the first ten minutes or so, then falls on its arse. World Heavyweight Championshp Booker T vs. Batista: Awful. Vince and Shane McMahon vs. Degeneration X: I was rooting for the McMahons. The match itself is rubbish, standard DX burial fare. WWE Championship Edge vs. John Cena: Reasonable psychology leading into it, but big fat 'meh.'

This was one of the most lackluster cards of the past decade, and possibly the worst Summerslam ever. While not King of the Ring 95 bad, it set the trend of Summerslam being the weakest ppv of the year for the past several years.

I was there for the event. My brother and I sat in the crowd, and we noticed a large streak of botches, like Rey's mask coming off, Sabu in general, and the fact that Orton pinned Hogan clean, but they acted like Hogan kicked out or something when it was clear that he didn't.
I actually have a SummerSlam 2006 T-Shirt laying around in a drawer somewhere. It has King Booker, DX, Vince McMahon, Sabu, and Lita's Cleavage. What else more could you want?

All I remember was Ric Flair snapping and that match being extremely violent.

The only match I've watched from that event was Foley vs Flair and that was on YouTube when I saw it. I do crack up at the moments when Flair started to get crazy like when he said "Now you son of b***h! YOU quit! You quit or I'll kill you right here!". I did kind of cringe at the thumbtack bump that Flair took, especially with a guy his age and how loose his skin is.

Wow, I'm really shocked by the hate for this card. I think it's in the top end of Summerslams for the past decade. It's at least top 5 for the decade, to me. Damn good show without a truly bad match on the whole card. Just watched it again last night on 24/7, and it still holds up (although it's weird seeing Layla as a brand-spankin' new Diva getting hazed in the back. Girlfriend's come a long way).

Because DX totally should have put over those young up and comers, the McMahons. How do you bury the owner of the company and the people with booking control?

Here's how I'd rank the Summerslams of the decade: 2002 2000 2001 2009 2008 2004 2003 2006 2005 2007

I think the card looks stacked on paper, but it flopped. 2007's was way, way worse. Kennedy vs. Umaga vs. Carlito? Rey vs. Chavo again? Cena wins again...uh...what else...

I liked the ECW Title Match, Hogan/Orton, and Foley/Flair (except for the ending). Rest of the card was decent, but rather boring.
EDIT: Seeing Layla jump up and down while the other Divas sprayed her with a shower head was also enjoyable.

This show sucks, and has one of the most embarassing backstage segments of all time with the Divas.
I mean we did get to see Laylas ass but still....

The PPV was actually the first I'd ever ordered from WWE, and only one from them. It was alright. Loved that Sabu was in it
