...will that pretty much be the end of the road for "supernatural" characters?
They're already pretty much the last of their kind. The last character to really come close was, what, the Boogeyman? And even he had the backstory that he was a method actor gone insane. Considering that both Kane and Undertaker are kind of grandfathered in relics from a more superheroic sort of era, I can't really see suddenly, a new elemental wrestler or something coming in.
What do you think?

I hope so. These 2 are the only ones who ever really made it work in the new era of wrestling.

I could see them trying to fill the void with someone similar, and it failing horribly.
I really hope it isn't though. The weird, supernatural characters are always fun.

It's hard to say. Special effects will only get more advanced, so probably not.

The Undertaker comes out sometime before he retires, announces that he was using the body of Mark Calloway as an avatar, but wishes to continue his role in WWE. So he found another.
Find another 6'10" guy who can wrestle pretty well (so that cuts guys like Cottonwood out), and Undertaker touches that guy's forehead. Arena goes dark, when the lights come back on, the new guy is dressed how Undertaker first dressed, sans hat. Calloway is gone, only a black hat left in the ring, which the new guy picks up, and puts on his head as the gong goes off in the arena.
As for Kane...I'll have to think on that one.

You guys seem to forget that Undertake wasn't exactly Supernatural at first... he was just, literally, an Undertaker, a mortician that felt no pain. That was it. His supernatural aspects came later.

I thought Taker was some guy that Paul Bearer met in his funeral parlor and managed to convince him he was undead and should be a wrestler.

Honestly, that would be pretty f***ing awesome. Too bad we'd all wind up bitching about it if it actually happened.

Isn't Hornswoggle a supernatural character? I mean, he can paint holes on walls and walk through them...and he's a leprechaun. That's kinda supernatural. ;D

I can't wait for that day. Finally 2 of the most overrated and outdated characters gone, and the potential of a glass ceiling shattering.

Really i think Tyler Black could fill this void nicely with the Undertaker/Avatar idea posted above. The biggest complaint is he isn't good on the mic, so give him a gimmick where he doesn't have to talk too much.

I think a believable badass vampire gimmick would work. Also if they ever brought in Rellik I think he'd do pretty well.

That was the Boogeyman's backstory? Yup, Palmer Cannon brought him to TLo and Smackdown as the actor who played him was a little to good at method acting and couldn't snap out it.
