From Gerweck.net
Aaron "Idol" Stevens has signed a new developmental deal with WWE. Stevens was in WWE's developmental system for years before being given a brief run on Smackdown in 2006. He was later cut by WWE in August of 2007 and has spent the last two years working in Puerto Rico for WWC.

Too bad this wouldn't fly in PG...

Yeah, I misread the title. Surely "re-signs" would be clearer?

Was he part of the Teacher's Pets or something?
God, now that was a tag team that went nowhere. Their biggest contribution to wrestling is that in one of the SvR games McCool carries a ruler to the ring.

It's great that he's back in the WWE. I liked his gimmick with Beth and Shelly in OVW.

KC James looked like Bobby Eaton's long-lost son.
You could easily do a PG version of Idol Stevens if you paired him with The Bellas.
Also, give him a first name. "Idol" is a nickname, not a first name. Besides, there isn't another "Aaron" on the WWE roster so there's no risk of confusion.

I say go the opposite direction - take advantage of another trademark they have and make him something like American Dragon Idol.

They must be trying to restock FCW after losing so many to NXT

What happened to Domino? He came back too, but I haven't heard anything else about him.

Yeah, OVW's Idol was a license to print money. I thought that gimmick for all 3 of them was awesome. I love Beth as the Glamazon, but she played the sweetheart valet very well. I love how she;s all shocked by Idol and Shelly in that first video, but then a little hot-n-bothered, before mugging for the camera as she's pulled in. Hilarious. And what D-bag heel won't get heat with that combo of valets.
After further contemplation, best gimmicks for all 3 of them...with Idol being especially ripped off going to WWE.

That is definitely awesome. He shouldn't be put through developmental again though, he should go right to the main roster.

With O'Reilly yesterday and now Stevens as well, they are pulling back in some missed opportunities, and I'm happy about it.
If they are still looking at some other former talents who didn't get their shot, I hope they look towards Jay Bradley, Dean Visk, Mike Mondo, Brent Albright, Derrick Neikirk, and Mike Kruel.

Well his best chance would be on SmackDown, as long as he and McCool are kept seperate.

Is it safe to thank Good Ol' JR for this one since he's working with talent again?

Is it safe to thank Good Ol' JR for this one since he's working with talent again? It's an interesting thought. Along with this and O'Reilly being resigned, I've got a feeling we're going to see more former developmental talent being signed. Maybe they'll give Colt a second look, too.
