Ok I've been watching since 1995 and I don't ever remember this character or storyline at all. My friend just sent me this titantron video and I don't remember this transformation at all. Does anyone know how this character happened? Was this pre Basham brothers, post Basham brothers? Did they ever use this Danny Basham character in any storyline? I totally don't remember this, please help lol. Thanks

It's the Damaja. Don't know if it was used much, but it's the indy gimmick he uses.
Unless it's the other one that uses it. Who freaking knows.

He used this gimmick after splitting with Doug Basham in 2005 after the Supplemental Draft

This happened post the 2005 draft. Danny was on heat for at least 2 appearances as the goth character, while Doug became "The Bash-Man". Think Rob Conway, sans catchy theme song, and on Velocity every week.

He actually only had one appearance under this character. I remember following it very closely and seeing the debut of it. Kinda sad they didn't give him a chance.

What I love about the Bash Man was he the first of example of WWE doing the generic cocky heel... by having them wear sunglasses and doing little else. Gregory Helms at one point had that as the only element in his titantron and Shelton managed to outdo that by having sunglasses... and a tropical shirt to show how cocky he was.

It was funny, because I was ready to buy into it, and then he uttered the infamous line "Fear me...Fear DANNY BASHAM!!"
It was at that time, after I had finished laughing like a maniac, that I realized that the WWE creative had lost the basic ability to properly market a gimmick for people. How hard would it be to call him something like Raven, but not Raven. Hell, The Damaja, while it sounds like a rapper's name, would still work. No, instead it's Danny Basham ahead!
No wonder the angle went nowhere. Guh!

He had a single televised match. If you look at his tron, you can see him beating up the current Desmond Wolfe.

Whatever happened to the Bashams after they left TNA?

Wasn't the Damaja gimmick Basham's own idea? With the way they handled this, Burchill's Ripper character and Elijah's Black Pope character, it seems like creative punishes people for trying to get over with their own ideas.

YOu know I miss the Bashams. I thought they were a very underrated team and never really given the chance due to the tag division sucking.
Danny Basham looked really good in OVW when he used the Damaja gimmick

The funny thing is, in OVW, Doug Basham and Damaja were hated rivals who were "forced" by WWE to team up on SD...as brothers.

I seem to remember people comparing Doug Basham to Chris Benoit back in 2005 right after the Basham's debuted on TV. I have no f***ing clue where that came from. They both suck..
