The rating doesn't really effect the quality of the product. Have you watched WWF in 1997 to mid-1998 when it was rated PG? Some of the most shocking promos have come from that time period. "WWE sucking" has more to do with their newer standards more than the PG rating. and I don't get how going out and calling people bitches and dropping the F bomb every minute is entertainment, maybe we have different views on what makes a quality wrestling product. So your saying you like how Bryan Danielson got released for choking sombody. This is wrestling thats what you do. If you through out the f bomb and say bitch and stuff. It gives more hypes to the feuds. Like what bad man for saying those dirty words. I like that it shows when somebody is a real heel. You get more heat for saying the f bomb and bitch. And Cena use to be a badass like when a face says bitch or some thing I think it shows how pissed they are. Like the good man can take it he is saying anything he just dose not care anymore. This has to be a joke.. I refuse to even think too hard about if this guy is serious, I don't want to have an aneurism.. but seriously dude, are you like, 12?

PG sucks this is a wrestling show. You dont fire somebody if they choke somebody this is wrestling. I hate PG its so f***ing corny. One day I want the Miz 2 go out there, and say Im The Miz and Im f***ing awesome unlike you f***in bitchs. TNA is great like how they bleed even though they do it to much its better then no blood. I love how Brother Ray just says to Shannon More '' Hey Shannon you got something to say then say it BITCH!!'' I loved when Bubba said that once on TNA. That is what makes a heel. John Cena on WWE lays down in the ring and says '' Fudge'' or something like that whatever he said was so PG!! I remember when Cena in the PG 13 era would say im a fire breathing one hell of a son bitch who cant go down. I froget what he said but it was something like that. WWE mic skills use to be so much better. Everything use 2 be so intense. Not even, Rapper Cena left it up to the crowd to finish his cusses, he would say if you got a problem with it, then you can suck my (points mic to the air) Audience: "Dick!!!!" The Audience dictated(no pun intended) what they wanted to hear.

This is all about Linda's political career. The show is basically G rated at this point so no one can say anything against her company. Hopefully once she inevitably loses they can at least stop insulting a large portion of their fan base. -Step 1: shoot Hornswoggle to the moon and leave him there This. Also, as someone else mentioned, there's no cultural boom period right now for the WWE to catch wind of. The Attitude Era came with Jerry Springer, crash TV and shock stuff like Howard Stern. Hell, the first half of the Attitude Era was PG and they STILL allowed blood, "ass", "b*tch" and other things the WWE have basically outlawed now. I'm also surprised nobody's mentioned mid-90s WWF where things such as chairs were TOTALLY banned. Not, "you can't land a headshot" like the rule is now, but "I'm sorry you can't use a chair at all" Of course, they began relaxing this rule gradually, and after Linda's campaign is over, they can do the same again, getting the kids (yes) more accustomed to higher levels of violence. Yes PG does have its advantages (no near-naked women, no giving birth to hands etc.) but someday that will all change. I suggest everyne hold on until after Linda's campaign. It won't become TV-14 overnight, but it will gradually get more adult as the kids get older.

Yeah, there isn't anything wrong with PG since it can eliminate the crappy aspects of Crash TV. People act like something being PG is dubious, but check out some PG rated movies sometime. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was rated PG, haha (okay, bad example...it led to PG-13). Stuff like The Empire Strikes Back was PG, and it has tons of people dying on Hoth, Luke Skywalker having his hand cut off, Han Solo being frozen alive, etc.

Not really. You just have to look a little closer. Everything important now is directed towards girls. Twilight, Disney Channel, crap like that. I figure that's gonna be the next evolution of WWE. It's already set in motion: The Divas belt looks like a Barbie accessory and they're desperate to get them over as role models for girls. Who gives Randy Orton and John Cena most of their chants? Young women...it's only a matter of time before we get Justin Beiber as a guest host and that will be the turning point. All they'll have to do at that point is start hiring ditzy male models instead of female ones (we already got that slack-jawed dumbass Justin Gabriel).

The writing is just by the numbers and no blood or cursing would change that, although we have had some good storylines this year for my money. The PG rating doesn't have anything to do with the poor writing, it is all down to the writers.

All the things you mentioned are culturally prominent, but you missed a very important point. They don't lend themselves to wrestling at all. Wrestling has almost always been aimed at men, most women simply won't watch. If men stop watching wrestling is as good as dead. The boom has to meet wrestling's core nature halfway. The fact that pop culture itself is becoming increasingly diverse and scattered makes things even worse. Most things don't even have a shelf life anymore, so WWE is increasingly grasping at air. I hate the Danielso firing as much as anyone but that was pure paranoia. Plenty of PG companies would have never fired Danielson for that. That was politics in the purest, ugliest sense of the word.
