Great week for classics. Liked both shows. Muraco's pre-match promo was intense!
The RAW episode was great, too bad this is probably the closest Cablevision customers will get to 24/7.
I hope next week's Hogan/Flair episode isn't the 12/29/91 MSG show since I just got the video of that. But it will be sweet nonetheless.

Really enjoyed both shows tonight. That Raw was awesome. I always thought the WWF was starting to hit its stride in 1997 with the emergence of Steve Austin, DX, the formation of the Hart Foundation and the Undertaker. 97 Austin was a better than 98 personality wise because he still was more of a heel. Anyway, the Jack/HHH match is a classic and I agree, that's what the new ECW should be striving for. The last segment with DX (including Rick Rude) and the Hart Foundation was pretty damn cool. Of course, you had to have the Austin/McMahon segment. That actually marked the end of Vince McMahon as a regular announcer in the WWF. He went into being an on-air performer from there. There was some editing. When Austin stunned McMahon, they cut JR's line that "Austin has stunned the owner of the WWF!" The first show was pretty good too, featuring Savage's debut (got great heat from the crowd). McGraw is the wrestler who got his neck broken by Piper, right? The urban legend is that Piper killed him in the ring. Steamboat/Valentine was pretty stiff and the cage match with Hogan and Morocco was pretty good. Can't wait for next week's show. Hogan/Flair! The Savage/McGraw match was good and the crowd really was giving Savage tons of heat. I think McGraw had a match with Piper that was part of a TV taping, and he died a few days later, as far as I know the match had no bearing on him passing away.

Yeah, his promo was pretty damn good. Anyone else think that he looked like Kurt Angle with a black curly wig though?

It's creepy that Pillman would die 20 days after that Raw. You were literally watching the final days of Brian Pillman. Sad.
I remember that Goldust and Marlena were due to renew their vows on Raw the next day but Pillman's death obviously scrapped that storyline.
I remember seeing that PWI with pictures of the HBK/Brawler match. That was the kind of wrestler Michaels was. He wanted to have a great match with everyone, even if you were a jobber. Of course, if you didn't follow his instruction exactly, he was a total ***hole.
