So this thread was sorta fun when we did it 2 weeks ago, even though there were only about 3 people watching the show. Maybe this week if it gets started up early enough, more people might be involved.
Tonight's lineup is:
8:00 - "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs Rick McGraw (Savage's MSG debut); Greg "The Hammer" Valentine vs Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat (I-C Title Match); Hulk Hogan vs Magnificent Muraco (WWF World Title Cage Match). From June 21, 1985
9:00 - Rocky Maivia vs Ahmed Johnson (I-C Title Tournament Match); Owen Hart vs Brian Pillman (I-C Title Tournament Match); Cactus Jack vs Hunter Hearst Helmsley (Street Fight); Bret "The Hitman" Hart vs Goldust (Non-title Match). Monday Night Raw from September 22, 1997.
I'm also going to be doing the thing I did last time where I posted the respective card from the night that is being broadcast to show what other matches happened.
So check this out tonight on the MSG Network (if you actually get it).

I'm definitely watching, especially the 2nd hour as that was when Raw was superhot and hopefully they show when Austin gave McMahon the stunner for the first time and he was going into convulsions, that was great stuff.

If you have MSG Network.
For the most part, it's a NY station, but if you have a dish, you should get it.

I kinda wish they were only showing house shows during this program but that Raw was one of the best they ever did. I think that's the night that the character of Cactus Jack made his (at that point) one night only return.

So do I, as I have the feeling they are going to show WM20 in an condensed 1-hour version one of these weeks. I was hoping to see some more stuff from the 80's-90's like the Desert Storm Match with Hogan and Slaughter, or the Bodybag match with the Warrior and the Undertaker.

Yeah I didn't have cable when I was growing up in NY but my cousins did. So I got to see some of these shows but not many. The Hogan/Slaughter match is one my cousin used to always tell me about but I never got to see it.

Hard to believe the MSG Raw from 1997 was almost 10 years ago. That was the time the "3 faces of Foley" debuted as Cactus Jack came out to face HHH after the Titan Tron showed Foley talking to himself in his 3 different personalities. Also where Ahmed Johnson busts his hand on the announce table. I believe this is when Vince oversold the Stunner for the first time as well (the worst sell of the Stunner in the history of wrestling). Great show and the atmosphere was great as well.
I started watching wrestling in 1985, so the first hour is going to be a nice reminder for me. It almost...ALMOST...makes me want to purchase 24/7, but I won't.

I can't wait to watch the first hour. Watching stuff like that from the early 80's brings back a lot of good memories plus you also get Muraco and Hogan in a cage. Muraco was awsome back then. Plus the debut of Randy Savage at MSG? Kick ass!
As for the second hour I think I have that already on tape somewhere but I'll still watch. It has Brian F'n Pillman on it so it's alllll good.
I'm glad I have Directv and the MSG network!

And just so everyone knows, Steamboat/Valentine is not a match you should miss.

I used to have the Ricky Steamboat tape from Coliseum Video which had the Steamboat/Valentine match on it, it's pretty good, though I didn't like Steamboat's ballet-like tights at the time.

Can't wait. I have a new favorite show for the summer and it's WWE Classics.
Looking forward to the first one. Steamboat/Valentine should be awesome, I always enjoyed Hogan's cage matches, and you can't go wrong with Savage.
Looking forward to the second one as well and they've got to have the Austin stunner of McMahon. That's such an historic moment. I actually have this show on tape someplace but like an idiot, I shut off the tape during the second half of the Jack/HHH match. Tried not to tape the commercials and lost the match instead. I was glad when it was on the Foley DVD.
To my knowledge, this was the only Monday Night Raw at MSG in the 1990s, which is surprising. Once 2000 came around, they started airing more Raws at MSG and I think one or two Smackdowns. Several PPVs have also been held there, so you might see some of them.
Matches I'm hoping to see on WWE Classics...
-Slaughter/Shiek boot camp match -Piper/Rude cage match -Savage/Dibease cage match for the WWF Championship. This is the one where the idiot fan tries to grab Virgil off the cage. -Hogan/Flair from 1991

Yeah only NY State and the surrounding areas. Since you don't have live here or have satelite, no you can't watch.

Living in New Jersey FINALLY has a benefit. It's about time.
I'm really looking forward to the first hour. I can't get enough of the '80's. Once you factor Hogan/Muraco, Savage, and Steamboat/Valentine...it's going to be a damn good show. Hopefully someone other than Alfred Hayes is on commentary. ANYONE else.
