Ever since Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, I've been in a huge Legend of Zelda mood, because I'm oft to randomly think of things like that. Of the numerous Zelda related subjects I could talk about, the one I'd like to bring up is Wind Waker.
I personally loved the bejeezus out of Wind Waker. I loved the art style, which includes the cel shading. I thought the story was an interesting take on the usual Zelda lore, and apart from how frigging long it took to get anywhere, sailing definitely held a certain charm for me.
I've heard certain people say that Twilight Princess was the best Zelda game on the Gamecube, and I think that is kind of a load. Stupid epic, grandiose style Zelda...way to buckle under fan pressure, Miyamoto!
Ahh, anyway; anyone else feel like chattin' about Wind Waker?

I seriously don't get the hate for the art style, although that remake with Twilight Princess visuals that was rumored to be a preorder bonus for Twilight Princess would have been fun to play.

Less sailing and more temples are the only things really missing from Wind Waker (though some sort of mini-game where you beat the crap out of Tingle for overcharging your ass in deciphering maps would have been nice too).

Wind Waker is absolutely incredible. I don't at all understand the hate that it got around the time it came out, other than gamers being afraid of change, which is absolutely true.
Seriously though, WW is in my top 5 Zelda games, no question about it. The story was great, the combat was awesome, the soundtrack was fantastic, it was insanely pretty, and just....yeah, I love me some Wind Waker.

Wind Waker was great...but traveling was the ultimate in misery until you got the warp song.

I love Wind Waker. Wind Waker is another example of Gamer's begging for innovation and then bitching about it when they get it .

It's a great game but I don't think it compares to Twilight Princess.
I don't have a problem with the cel shading. Graphically, it looks stunning. I have a problem with the gameplay overall. There's not enough dungeons. There's too much added onto the game to try and increase the longevity. Like searching for the Triforce charts, then getting the money to decipher the maps and then sailing to all the shards. Or that stupidly long "dungeon" when you have to keep going through about 30 floors to get something. Yes, Twilight Princess has one of these, but you don't need to play it to complete the game.
The dungeons that it has are really good (except for the Forsaken Fortress, which is just annoying), why they couldn't have put in a couple more dungeons like that I don't know.

I've always wanted to play this, I've heard it was better than Twilight Princess... true?

I think it had to do with the Demo. If they had just left that out, it would have been fine. You have to remember, we were trained in those days to belive that gaming would get better and better hyperealistic graphics. Now Nintendo was right, graphics do not make a fun game (see Starcraft), but truth in marketing should have been observed.

I've always wanted to play this, I've heard it was better than Twilight Princess... true? Nope. It's IMO the worst proper Zelda game (not including hand-held) since Zelda II. That's not saying it's crap, far from it. It's just when you look at the quality of all the other Zelda games, it's not as good.

It's a good game, but I would still rank it as about the eight best Zelda game. It was too easy and the sailing was a pain.. Though I did love the art style, it makes it stand out from every other Zelda.

I've always wanted to play this, I've heard it was better than Twilight Princess... true? They both have their flaws. Both games are too easy, and both suffer from pointless gimmicks that don't add anything worthwhile (sailing and wolf form respectively). The biggest problem with Twilight Princess was just how lazy and uninspired the whole thing felt. It was almost as if there was very little creative effort put into the dungeon designs, and it seemed like they were struggling to find uses for many of the new items. Wind Waker was better in these areas, but one thing that really drug it down was the uber tedious triforce chart hunt designed to artificially lengthen the game. Overall they both kinda fall short of the series' standards.

I'm sorry, I've survived the Ice Dungeon and the Water Dungeon. And that's both in Zelda and Final Fantasy. After that, I can live with an easy Zelda Game.

It's the weakest of the 3D Zeldas, but, that said, it's still better than most games out there. It's just unlucky to be the runt of the litter in a truly exceptional group.

I like it the most of the 3-d Zeldas, it was charming, quirky, and thanks to the graphic style still looks amazing today.

You know, for a kids game, Link's final blow to Ganon was a little too extreme. Let's just say that it can either be the worst or coolest death ever.

I love Zelda games! Wind Waker is a pretty good game, although I have to agree that sailing was a bit of a pain until you get the warp song. I am not a huge fan of the graphics, they are kind of kiddish looking to me but that's just me. I still love the Zelda series. ^.^
