They've made him Austin, as has been mentioned. Which I don't really mind, the crowd is eating it up by the gallon.
What's interesting is that he's become an Austinesque character without having to speak that much ( which also benefits him; as while Orton's passable on the mic, too much promo-time would kill the anti-hero thing they got going with the Viper character)

I like Orton, but I have to admit I'm not crazy about his tourette's routine. Wait...tourettes? Did I miss something? Just in how he twitches, grimaces, stomps around and such. I think he's awesome and one of the few guys who really has an act that pumps the crowd up. He gets so into it, so expressive in his movements. I don't think anyone's connecting better with the crowd these days.

I Used to like the guy but once everyone started to get behind him I sort of got turned off and now he's, I won't say bugging me, but I really don't need to see him every week dominating Raw like he has for the past few weeks. Lord knows if it was Cena everyone would throw a tantrum, screaming "Super Cena" (I'm not even a Cena fan but it's true).
I understand that they're trying to make im into a new Austin or fan favourite and everything but it's just too much if you ask me. The RKO's aren't even surprising anymore. I knew the second he waved Young over that it would end with an RKO for him. The weird spasms he has after/before he hits it are getting more and more ridiculous week after week and that's coming from someone who used to love him pounding the mat to get the crowd pumped up.
The fans love it, that's the reaction they want and that's all that matters. I myself am tired of not only the RKO but Randy Orton in general.

I like Orton just for the fact that at least the crowd cheers for the guy, unlike most WWE "superstars". But yeah, since he's turned face he's so crap. He wrestles like he's trying not to get injured, under the guise of being "tha viperrr". My bigger pet peeve about Orton is that he does that hanging DDT every match now. Its such an unnatural situation for the other guy to always crawl to the apron and lay there, its one of those moves that is really cool but should only be done once in a while in order to sell the ingenuity and uniqueness of the move. Thing is, that would require Orton doing more than punch, clothesline, stare, convulse, powerslam and RKO. I know I know, its the WWE way, but Orton is even more extreme with it than Cena, who to his credit has spiced things up more lately.

I love the RKO, one of my favourite finishing moves of the last few years.

I guess i'll stand in the happy middle, I love that the move is beig put over as a *It can be hit anywhere anytime* That being said he can tone the doasge of RKO down a smidge.

I'm so glad someone finally said it. Everyone else seems to just have a huge hard on for Orton.
I used to love the RKO and marked for it coming out of nowhere, but too much of a good thing is always a bad thing. And I HATE how he's just invincible now. NOBODY gets the upper hand on him. Ever.

I like Randy but the guy seriously needs to work on his mic skills.. Too dull and monotone. I think if his mic work skills improve he will get even MORE over. Hes got charsima, good ring psychology, he can work.. But something with his voice and interviews just extremely extremely dull..
Maybe just giving him bullet points and ad libbing would help. QUIT WRITING freaking interviews for guys. It just kills the whole thing.

I completely agree with everything Sharpy Snow wrote. They're booking him like the second coming of Austin. Which really annoys me. Orton gets good pops, but he will never EVER be as over as SCSA. Austin could get away with making the roster look like fools because he was printing money for the company. Orton isn't on that level at all. And can they please stop trying to make every time Orton and Cena look at each other some kind of epic confrontation? They've wrestled a ton of times in the past. It's not like Hogan/Rock. He'll never get Austin reactions because wrestling was way more popular when Austin was around. Randy Orton in 1998 would have been a HUGE star. Hell, anyone would have been if pushed. Everyone just about was over back then. Expecting anything like those reactions now is just silly thinking.

I love these threads. Seriously. This board constantly calls the WWE stupid for not pushing somebody to the moon when they're getting the reactions that Orton has been getting. Then the minute the WWE actually starts pushing the guy to the moon, the same people turn on him for being 'overpushed', 'stale', 'dominating', or whatever.
Seriously, guys. Make up your minds.
Oh, and for what it's worth, Orton is white-hot right now, and he's being pushed in a way that's going to maximize that. It's smart booking.

What is with this recent fad of people acting like guys are being turned on (Miz, Orton) when they're still heavily favoured here? It baffles me.

I don't have a problem with Orton BESIDES the stupid Viper-like shit he pulls off by rolling around, stomping his fists, and twisting his neck.
It's so annoying, and seriously, makes him look like a tool.
Gotta admit though, he's VERY over.

This is a mostly pro-Orton board it seems. I fall into the "don't really like the guy, but I can appreciate he's over as f***" camp. My problem with the RKO bonanza on Raw was the Darren Young thing. Honestly, Orton can RKO the likes of Sheamus and Edge till the cows come home. They're heels, it's what they're there for. But Orton randomly RKO'ing the guy who just helped him made Young look like a fool and killed his momentum 30 seconds after his big return. THAT was unnecessary.
