Tonight sees the start of a reduced Season 3 of NXT, as for the first time in the series, it'll be Rookie Divas taking part to try and earn a title shot on PPV.
AJ Lee, Naomi Knight, Aksana, Jamie Keyes and Maxine have five shows (ending with a live special on October 1st, the last show on Syfy) to prove that they're the next breakout Diva in the WWE. They would have been joined by the 6'9" giant Aloisia, but her pro Vickie Guerrero sacked her due to a disagreement. Guerrero will announce the sixth Rookie Diva tonight, who will it be?
Guerrero is one of the seven pros on the show - AJ Lee will be coached by Primo, Naomi by Kelly Kelly, Aksana by Goldust, Jamie Keyes by the Bella Twins and Maxine by Alicia Fox. Who will emulate Chris Jericho and LayCool by helping their rookie emulate Wade Barrett and Kaval?

If Aliosia really is gone I'll be skipping alot of this on youtube, maybe just watch the Goldust parts.

I was rooting for Aloisia but if she's really gone then I'm all for Jamie Keyes.

So will the first challenge be a sausage eating contest or a pillowfight joust?
You just know it's going to be something stupid.

Since this is a whole thread about this, and a thread about the tv show, I want to give my thoughts on all of them.
Aksana is not ready for tv. On FCW tv for a bit, she was used in the Tony Atlas role for the Abraham Washington show, where she would laugh at dumb times. She also currently has the Aksana show, and it's basically her asking whether the guests like Lithuanian blondes, and they have a musical guest every week that never shows up, like I think Elton John was supposed to be there one week.
I've never seen her wrestle. But, while she's a fitness model, I'm not sure how well she'll fare, given that she was just recently signed and she's going to lack experience. Aloisa has a year plus on her in experience, and she started out on the indies, and I do too personally believe Aloisa should stay off tv before she gets some more training.
AJ Lee is also relatively green, but definitely the most talented and experienced of the bunch, even if she as well lacks experience. She's the girlfriend of Jay Lethal, and comes from the New Jersey area wrestling scene, including WSU and places like that. She frequently wrestles on tv, and was nicknamed the "Pocket Rocket" by Wade Barrett when he was on commentary. Very athletic, I predict she'll be the high flying diva that WWE would use (instead of a brawling or technical one), and can do it a lot better then the Bellas and Kelly Kelly.
Naomi Night, what an awful name, you might as well just call her Blackie McBlackchick. I'm surprised they didn't keep Shelton Benjiman on, and this chick could have been his "sista", as Mama said Shelton should let his little sis come on tv with him or something. If he wasn't released by then, he may've quit, but anyway, onto her. And I don't know, like, Cryme Tyme was ok, because they kinda fit their gimmick and Shad said, well, you do know some people like that. But, they seemed to turn the volume way up, and it's not the same with her, I don't know. Anyway, onto what really matters. She's actually pretty talented, which surprised me. I wasn't able to watch FCW for awhile, but recently I saw some of her matches, and she's pretty athletic, and she isn't all that bad. So yeah, props to her for picking it up rather quickly, and I expect her to stay on the roster after this season.
Maxine is another one who I've never seen wrestle before. She done some bits in the back with Norman Smiley and Steve Kiern, but I've never seen her wrestle either, and I'm pretty sure she was a recent model signee as well. Her name in FCW was Liviana for people wanting to know. Umm, I can't comment much about her, she is kind of just a generic chick, like, I don't see much in her.
Jamie, I was surprised to learn, did some stuff in wrestling before coming to WWE. She did stuff with Wrestlicious, was Kevin Nash's valet during that brief time where he was looking for a valet before Hogan come in. However, I've never heard anything about her in a wrestling role. She looks athletic, but so do a lot of people. She's another one, who it seems they're signing up random people based on looks, and I found out something interesting with that, where women actually look more attractive to men and women when they're ovulating, and less so when they're not, and even less so then that when they're on their period. So, theoritically, some of these girls could have been brought in, simply because they happened to be on a certain point in their menstral cycle. Which is an obvious problem, because maybe a talented female who was either on her period or on birth control might get overlooked for someone who's ovulating, because it's about looks before talent. I learned that on a podcast, Stuff Mom Never Told You, and the first thing I thought of was Johnny Ace's hiring practices.
Man, I took the tv show thread and went way off the reservation with it, lol. But seriously, like, I saw pictures of the girls like Toni the Top, who apparently wasn't attracative enough. I saw the pictures, and she looked great. But, why wasn't she seen as attractive that day. Stuff like that bothers me, and it's also bad from a business standpoint, where you're throwing these girls out, and they're stinking up the joints, making the company and the girls themselves look bad in the process.
You got Rosa Mendes out there, she's been on tv for the past couple of years, she's still not tv ready. Bah, I'll stop now.

It would amuse me if the matches went longer than most of the men's NXT ones. If Dusty had the confidence to put Naomi in the main event of FCW's TV, then it may well happen

Wait, so how long will NXT S3 be? Will it take us all the way to SmackDown's premiere on SyFy?

I'm really looking forward to NXT Series 3. I manage to watch a fair share of FCW on youtube, so I do already have opinions on the women. Then again, alot of the Series 1 & 2 guys suprised me by being worse or better than I expected them to be. My two cents on the girls: AJ Lee- She has the most experience, and is probably the best wrestler of the lot. I'm not as high on her as others already seem to be, but I am a fan. She's cute, and capable of putting on good matches with the right opponents. She's not all that great on the mic, but she does have presence in the ring. Looking at everyone right now, she looks odds on favourite to win. Naomi Night- I've heard alot of people have issue with the name, but I quite like it. "Naomi Night always brings the fight". I hope she busts that out again. She's been wrestling for about a year now, and is pretty darn impressive considering that fact. Given a few more years and she'll be a solid addition to the women's division. As it is now, she's already leaped above Kelly, the Bella's, Tiffany, Eve and Rosa in terms of ring-ability. She's got a good, varied moveset. Like AJ, she's not much on the mic; servicable, but not great. However, she got REALLY over with the FCW fans (who are generally pretty quiet). I'd say she probably gets some of the best reactions down there, so she has some sort of magnetism. Also, I'll be disappointed if she doesn't end up with her FCW music. It's awesome. Maxine- She's not a good wrestler. Let's get that out the way. There have been worse in WWE before her, but she's not very good. However, she has the best mic skills of all the rookies. I don't know if she has a history in acting, but it wouldn't suprise me. She would make a great mouthpiece for someone, and although I see her leaving early on, that's where I think she'll end up; paired up with a guy on one of the main shows. Aksana- She's adorable. Her accent is too cute. She's not particularly good at anything; not a great wrestler, not great on the mic (although English isn't her main language obviously). She's got a history in fitness, and in theory I could see her getting alot better. She'd make a great on-screen girlfriend for someone (Santino?) Jamie- I know the least about Jamie. She's very pretty. I've only seen one of her matches, which was a squash where she didn't do much, but she didn't do anything wrong in it. She's servicable on the mic. I don't really have much to say about her. Of all the girls, I'm quite intrigued about Jamie. Wait, so how long will NXT S3 be? Will it take us all the way to SmackDown's premiere on SyFy? I think someone said it was 5 weeks. Don't quote me on that though. The first report to come out about this series of NXT said it would be 5 weeks. Vickie Guerrero said on her twitter account it would be 12 weeks. I'd rather take one of the performers word for it than some random internet writer (but the internet writer will probably turn out to be right!).

I'm totally excited for this season! here's my thoughts on the Rookies.
AJ: She seems good. She probably has the most ring experience of all of them. She's going to be my second favorite. I know very little of her work, but I expect good things. She's probably the high-flier/Cole punching bag for this season.
Aksana: She's an awesome comedy character and her broken English is the key to her character. She probably isn't the best wrestler, but she'll probably be the one with the personality this season.
Maxine: The first one to go, period. But, I've seen stuff of her in FCW, and she has excellent persona. I think she's like a Latina Maryse. The sooner she leaves NXT, the sooner she can be on the main roster as a valet. (for Alberto Del Rio?)
Naomi: My number one to win. Everybody else here likes AJ, but I LOVE Naomi. She's been here for less than one year, and she's already a good wrestler with outstanding potential. She's also got fairly good mic skills, which is a plus. Let's go, Naomi!
Jamie: I'll call her "The Walking Potential Box". She used to be an announcer, but now she wants to strike out on her own and be a wrestler, and I see nothing but potential for her. She may not be the best wrestler, but if she really wanted to, she can train her ass off to learn how to wrestle and become a future champion. I'll trees begin as seeds. She'll end up in 3rd.
Once again, cannot WAIT for this season!

So is Vickie revealing the 6th diva or not? Or are they just going with 5?

AKSANA: I honestly think she's a little cutie! I don't think she's ready to wrestle yet, but hey, she can't be much worse than any of these other girls, right? Besides, she seems to ooze charisma, as far as I'm concerned, and she has the Maryse foreign type appeal that you can't deny. I'm rooting for her, honestly. And Goldust as her pro? yesplz.
AJ LEE[/u]: Yes, I still call her AJ Lee. I think she's a little overrated, tbh. She's cute, she's good, etc, etc. Go to the indies and you'll find dozens more just like her. But, you know, to each his own, and I'm not going to pretend like she's not talented at all. I'm sure she'll do good in this competition, and considering she's easily the best wrestler, we'll see how that goes.
JAMIE KEYES[/u]: Yeah, not sure what the whole story is with her, but she has Beth Phoenix appeal, to me. Buff girl with a cute face. I'm sure she's not an awful wrestler, I haven't seen much of her. She did a good job as announcer, though! We'll see what she can do.
MAXINE[/u]: I don't think she's ready for TV at all, whatsoever. I'm sure she's going to have some boring HBIC gimmick type of thing too. Not sure on her, though.
NAOMI NIGHT[/u]: She's a decent enough wrestler. She's definitely a break from what else we have here, and I could see her being that sasseh ghetto girl, you know? Very, very curious to see what she can do.
And there's Kendall's take on NXT 3. C:
tyfyt.

Does anyone think NXT will edit out the beatdown on Kaval from last week?
My guess they show Cannon rushing him, Riley & McGillicutty running toward the ring, close-ups of S.O.L., Heavy Hitter, You're Dismissed, and Titus Wave, then Percy giving a demonic sounding "OH YEAH!"
