I think he's alright, but yeah, the finisher could be better. He will be gold in a few years, I think, but currently, he's still pretty raw. Think of Orton in his first reign, he's around there wrestling wise. He's got his best years ahead of him.

I like Barrett's in-ring work. Sure he's not exactly Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho, but he's certainly not Batista or Bobby Lashley either.
He's not great, but he's passable. And he's got great psychology and charisma. And I'd almost expect him to improve significantly over the years.

I've ALREADY seen improvement from NXT to now. And he was NEVER bad....So I'd actually say he's on the right track.

I didn't really think much of Batista's matches from about 2007 on, even the PPV ones. It's like he lost something. Though his heel work near the end of his run was a big improvement.
But I'd agree when it comes to his work in the mid-00's, especially in 2005. He had some great matches against Eddie and Triple H.

Id say he's about at Sheamus level in the ring, solid but not that exciting if truth be told.

I actually thought Barrett looked a much better wrestler when he was on NXT.
On NXT he was built up as every move having a purpose and constantly focussing on his opponents back with his various backbreakers, shoulder blocks to the spine and his rope-stretch move that he used.
Now he's come on Raw the WWE have inexplicanly taken that away from him and made him wrestle with a "punch punch punch kick" style that Drew McIntyre had before they started letting him use moves.
Barrett is obviously capable of pulling off some decent moves, like that slingshot backbreaker that he used on NXT but for some reason the WWE have stopped him from using any.
I hope it changes soon and he builds up his move arsenal again because nobody has really gotten over with a moveset consisting of just punches.

Hulk Hogan has always sucked in the ring too. I think Raven said it best. It doesn`t matter how awesome you are in the ring. Who will the fans remember, the guy who can do flippy stuff in the ring, or the guy who sells a great promo and and gets the money flowing?

He just need a more effective looking finisher. I mean it doesn't even look that impactful. Skips Clothesline look more painful then that. It just looks weird.

He works a slow, methodical style in the ring, and does it without Otunga-ing. I like it. Too many young guys try to do a bunch of over the top stuff, and end up looking like idiots.

I don't mind Barrett's finisher that much. When he does it right, it looks like it could really hurt. Like, if you did that to someone in real life, you'd at least knock the breath out of them. Definitely looks more painful than the Attitude Adjustment. That said, Barrett is boring in the ring. He has potential though, and I think he could be carried to a great match. I just don't know who could carry him right now because HBK's gone

I got up to 21 seconds when I realized I couldn't watch this cuz my head would explode from seeing Hogan WRESTLE.

It seems like he's moving in slow motion. Just doing headlocks, not moonsaults.

For me, Barrett's biggest "problem" has to do more with when he debuted than anything he's doing right or wrong in the ring. The guy had the "misfortune" of debuting at the same time as Daniel Bryan, Kaval, and Alberto Del Rio - three well-respected, seasoned veterans that are already masters at what they do. Compared to them, he looks mediocre at best. If he would have arrived at the same time as "true rookies" Sheamus or Drew McIntyre, I don't think his in-ring skills would be questioned all that much.
It also doesn't help that he is the only member of Nexus to regularly work matches. Gabriel, Skip, and to a lesser extent, Tarver, were/are all based their around their finishers - the 450, the spear, and the "knockout punch"/Killplex (that's what he called it the Indies; don't know the current name for it) respectively - and thus, don't much of the heavy lifting. Slater and Young are being built up slowly, so their in-ring time is severely limited. As for Otunga... He's just kind of "there" at the moment. Your flaws are much more noticeable when you're the only one out there.

I feel the same way, but I also felt the same about Sheamus and he's improved dramatically. So, time will tell with Barrett, I don't know if he's as athletic as Sheamus which could hinder him.

You don't have to be Ricky Steamboat in the ring to get over or be a good heel.. Hell some of the biggest stars and weakest workers in the ring were often the most over. Cena is the most awkward guy and the crapiest in ring worker as a babyface there has been yet hes been pushed to the moon for 6 years now.
Hell Vince and company don't want good workers.. Just "yes men" and "entertainers"

I have seen that match before and I do agree. However, my point is that Hulk Hogan has not needed to be great in the ring to be the arguably biggest wrestling star in the world. His charisma and look is what got him over.
