Most deserving? Alice Cooper
Better chance than him? LL Cool J

At first I thought it was kinda a lame field this year apart from Cooper and Waits, but then I saw Donovan and the Beasties. Not bad.
My vote goes to Waits for sure, though.

Still no Yes but we got Donna Summer.

I think they all deserve to get in, LL Cool J and Waits especially.
On a related note, I don't get the argument some people make that the R&R Hall of Fame should be restricted only to guitar-based rock acts. Hip-hop and R&B/pop acts are still under the "rock 'n roll" umbrella as popular music.

had to go with Alice Cooper...he's the most straight up rock n' roll artist on that list (and since KISS can't get in, might as well have a similar artist in there)...
Waits, Beasties, J.Geils, and Dr. John all deserve to be in as well...
I would say that it's too early for Bon Jovi but they're arguably the most commercially popular band in the list so they will more than likely go in...

If they want to add different acts that's fine, but at least rename it the 'Music Hall of Fame'. It's shameful to rock and roll that KISS & Alice Cooper are out but Abba and Madonna are in.

Still no Yes but we got Donna Summer. Damn straight. She completely deserves to be in there. Although I personally loathe Bon Jovi, I don't have a problem with any of those nominees being inducted. Cooper, Waits and Diamond would be most deserving IMO. And Slade get screwed over again.

For whatever reason, "rock and roll" is an all-including term. Maybe that shouldn't be the case and the name should be different- but under the definition they use, ABBA and Madonna have very much earned their way in. And I wouldn't be surprised if KISS were inducted within the next few years. I actually think it would be a crime if N.W.A never got inducted.

It's shameful to rock and roll that KISS & Alice Cooper are out but Abba and Madonna are in. The problem with that (even though I hate Abba with the fire of a thousand suns) is go and listen to the early rock n roll stars. Does Buddy Holly sound more like Abba or Kiss?

I'd vote Chic just because I don't think Nile Rodgers gets nearly the credit he deserves for the things he's done.

Go Dr. John!
His role in "Polynesiantown" alone should secure him a spot.

Alice Cooper FINALLY may get the nod.
I didn't read the article, are we talking the band or Alice as a solo performer?

I want the Beasties to get in. They did a LOT to break color barriers in hip-hop and were among the first to blend rock and hip-hop together.

Out of that list the Beastie Boys. They took sampling into a crazy art form that has been mimicked ever since.
