What movies that are generally considered terrible did you really enjoy?
I have to say I loved the hell out of DOA Dead Or Alive. I honestly expected it to barely be enjoyable enough to finish, but I ended up having a really good time watching it. I was surprised this movie got s*** on so much. I mean what exactly were people expecting from this? Given the situation I think they made a damn fine little movie. The only weak spots where Kasumi and Ayane, pretty terrible acting for the most part. Everyone else did an admirable job in my opinion. Sarah Carter, Holly Vance and Jamie Pressly came off as more than just eye candy. They played really enjoyable characters. The rest of the supporting cast was excellent. Even the exaggerated muscle man characters were cool for being so over the the top. Also it had Kevin Nash as a pretty funny guy, and Eric Roberts was the villain. I have to say that the actors had to have had a great time with each other and making this. It just jumps off the screen to me. Also the location was beautiful it added a lot to the film. The plot was entertaining enough, but not much more than anyone should have expected. It had a nice sense of humor without trying too hard to be a "comedy". Compared to a lot of fighter game movies this was by far the best I've seen so far. I connected with it for some unexplainable reason, it's like my own little cult film... a cult of one. Which might technically not classify as a cult at all in such case...[/rant]
So anyway, I guess people often expect the Shawshank Redemption from these films, god knows why... Or maybe I have a less discriminating taste when it comes to being able to enjoy things for what they are. Or just possibly I'd be entertained by a box of rocks, and am just too stupid to realize I have bad taste.
Finally, what "terrible" movies did you guys love?
