I've kept mine on for a day or so aftter I leave the hospital but that's only because I was too lazy to cut it off right away.

I usually do cut them off, but if they stay on... it's six hours at most after being released

I've never been hospitalized, but I would leave mine on for a long time as a reminder of my own frail mortality. It's a good thing for scholars to do so that we don't become too haughty.

i usually keep mine on for a day or so, but thats only because if i'm in the hospital, i'm super sick and way too tired to do anything about them. after that, i put them in a memory box i have.

I actually kept mine on for a few days after I was hospitalized for swine flu, but I felt like I had a pretty good reason. I was so f***ed up that even making a trip to the grocery store wore me out to the point where I nearly collapsed several times, and I had nobody else to shop for food for me. I'm allergic to 90% of antibiotics, which was listed on my bracelet. If I had collapsed in the store and gotten injured and somebody started putting a bunch of antibiotics on me, I could have had some massive problems. Of course, somebody recommended that I do this as well, so it's not like I was acting on my own accord.
It honestly freaked me out a bit to realize that if something happened to me and I was unconscious, I wouldn't be able to tell people about my allergies.

I dig mine out from time to time just to be reminded of what can kill me in terms of medicine

When I broke my ankle last Feburary I left mine on for 3-4 days. Mostly because I forgot about it. I was able slip it off without cutting it. It now resides on top of my fridge.

I've kept mine on for a couple days, but I've only been to a hospital for a concussion, so I didn't notice I was wearing one

I only wear it after my visit from the hospital because I forget I had it on. Some clerk wished me a happy recovery and that got me confused until he noted that I was still wearing a hospital bracelet.

I haven't worn one, but I do have the one from my birth. It still looks new after 28 years.(which I hope is some type of sign)

I would cut it off while I was still in the hospital. Damn my stubborn pride. I've never spent more than 2 hours in a hospital, for myself I mean.

I hate being in the hospital. So it is torn off, and I do mean torn off my wrist the minute I sign the release papers.

I took mine off after I got home from being discharged after a week in the hospital. FIgured with my then-fiance and mom around, I was good. Mom got a cool keepsake if nothing else.

People who keep their Hospital Bracelets on to garner sympathy. Cut it off already. There's no reason to still be wearing it after you get home. Especially days after you got out. I know you're only wearing so people will know you were in the hospital and treat you like a baby. Cut it off you sympathy seeking nut. and don't try to say you like the way it looks. It's a laminated piece of paper with some numbers on it. Haven't you heard? It's the new hipster trend! Don't be surprised if you see douches and douchettes with their hospital bracelets still on, listening to MGMT and drinking PBR.

I still have my umbilical cord and placenta attached, hospital tags are for lightweights.

I keep mine on just in case I have to go back to hospital. You never know when you'll catch small pox again. I still have my umbilical cord and placenta attached, hospital tags are for lightweights. That's nothing. My dead conjoined twin is still attached to my forehead. You may not have noticed, my subtle sombrero disguises it very well.
