Hey guys this is my rant on school. I'm on my Ipod right now and the touchscreen is crao so sorry for any misspellings. Now on with the rant.
First of all, I have the most pointless class ever conceived. Computer "Essentials". Basically, you just type without looking for 40 minutes and it is slow torture.
Second of all, my accelerated classes are like, stuff we learn in three years. I don't even think I belong in some of these AP classes but the Reg. Classes are too easy.
Third, I have a completely screwed up schedule that I changed 3 times and each got crappier.
I end up with 2 hours worth of typing, eating and learning about newspapers. Thats 1/3 of my day wasted on stupid crap.
/rant.

You're right. That does sound like crao. Are you just messing with me or was that a legit misspelling?

Can't you test out of the typing class if you are proficient enough?
The way that class went in my high school, it was all on some teaching typing program, which we finished in the first two weeks. The rest was spent playing Freecell or Minesweeper.

Don't type up posts on an iTouch. It's just tedious. (Unless you're on Twitter.)

Ugh, I'm sorry dude. I HATED high school. Almost every class was completely pointless to me. The only ones that actually ended up making a difference were the science and math classes, and the ONLY reason they made a difference is because I'm a science major so taking my pre-req classes has been easier because I already knew everything.
If you're planning on going to college, take as many AP classes as you can because most colleges will count the AP classes toward your general ed. I got out of calculus, government and economics because of AP classes. f*** yeah! Plus, it gets you ahead in college - I started my freshman year of college technically as a sophomore. Being a student in a California college where I don't know ANYBODY who plans on graduating in four years, this is really, really helpful for me.
So, yes. AP classes are really helpful. Even though CollegeBoard is a wretched organization.

My school would have been decent if they had not decided to just force academies and block scheduling the last two years I went... oh it gets worse though.
Block Scheduling: basically the classes we were supposed to take were extended to what felt like eons (really, just 2.5 hours but that's not the point) and our lunches were shortened to accomodate the extended classes. Thankfully we only had to take 4 periods a day on an alternating time table, the bad news though was that school was really longer... (this only applied my senior year)
Academies: my school seriously thought students would function better if they were forced to choose "houses" to allign themslves to and restrict their class choices based on the "academic house". Ironically, they claimed it was "closer to college-style" classes... I'm pretty sure College Courses are still picked freely and not locked by what your "house" is. We had prerequisites for classes and everything. I almost didn't graduate with a digital media honor because I skipped an OPTIONAL computer class that fed into my actual video tech and animation classes.
The academy I was thrown in had pretty decent teachers so I didn't care... however the counselor that was appointed to the academy sucked, he didn't know how to do his job properly and even had the gall to never be in his office. I really think the budget that my school had was blown on making the academies and they forgot that they needed to hire competent staff, cutting corners when they could (you know it's true, when's the last time a "NEW" textbook ever hit classrooms?) they decided to hire the first guy they found on the street.
Oh and Class of 2008 (my graduating class) was stripped of all their Senior Privledges... no lie. We were not allowed early release, work release, free periods, or even to leave campus for lunch... no real reason either. Just that the school changed the rules to subjugate the class of 08. I really wish I made this up, but after Class of 08 graduated the senior privledges were given back to class of 09 and they were even granted free prom tickets because of how hard 08 worked to bring honor to the school.
From what I've heard from my brother (he's a junior now) the school is starting to make stupid changes again...
