This year, my employer switched from a major health insurance provider to one that I had never heard of before.
Well I've been out of work the past month and a half with a torn ACL and have had nothing but headaches dealing with these people.
I got my approval for a MRI then later got a bill for over $800 since they claimed that I never got approval for it. I called and mentioned that I had a letter approving it and they said it must have been a mistake and they'd take care of it.
Today I got a bill saying that my primary doctor is "out of network" and they weren't gonna pay their portion of my last visit to see him. I've seen him before and had no problem with them paying. As it turns out, the dumbasses misspelled his name and thought it was somebody else I saw. Sure, a doctor with the same 1st name and 1 letter off in his last name with the same address and phone/fax number........
I've had this crap insurance rejected multiple places. In fact, my physical therapy was CHEAPER with me paying out of pocket than going thru insurance. If the place I went for PT accepted this provider, I'd have had to pay a $50 co-pay per visit as it's considered a "specialist" but out of pocket, I paid $60 for the 1st evaluation visit and only $35 for each visit afterwards.
It's enough to make me want to quit my job and find some place with a better insurance provider.
