Back in WWECW, when Kelly was doing her "exhibitionist who's strangely shy" gimmick and Knox was doing his "understandable jealous boyfriend who's somehow the heel" gimmick, we all expected (and were right about) Knox to turn on Kelly. However, seems like something better could've been done differently there, maybe played against expectations.
As it is, Knox didn't get that much heat from turning on her (which is supposed to be the point) and he languished in the LOWER lower card for the rest of his tenure. In this aspect, the angle completely failed in its payoff, and since no real feud came of it (Kelly had no champion to defend her), ultimately it was a waste of time.
However, seems like something good could have come out of this. Maybe instead of Knox turning on Kelly, Kelly could've instead turned on him (she did come off as kind of bad--not really giving a damn about Knox or his feelings) and hooked up with a pretty boy character like Dupree. Or, on the other hand, she could've turned heel and stayed with Knox, maybe betraying CM Punk to give Knox an advantage. Something like that.
Anyway, did WWE do this angle right in your opinion? How would you have done it?

You could pretty much make a thread questioning the sensibility of just about every angle in the WWECW from mid '06-mid '07, if you wanted to. So i'm not even gonna go into this one.

What always bothered me the most was how Knox was bad because he was jealous. Okay, maybe he took the stripping a little too personally, but Kelly OPENLY hit on CM Punk (who had a girlfriend even in kayfabe, making it even worse on Kelly's part).

He disappeared for nine months. The most heat he could have ever had and he wasn't around. Plus, they'd already had the Punk/Knox blow-off match in the UK a few weeks prior. The angle was anything but a waste of time, seeing as how it got her over. And over divas are something the WWE is short of these days

ECW. Vince bought, and owns, ECW. If I were him, I would have declared my turtle the ECW champion.
On topic, though, this could have worked. If nothing else, CM Punk seemed, at best, slightly amused by Kelly, but never expressed much interest in her. Her fixation really did nothing but make her seem like a bitch.

If anything, Knox had the right to be pissed off. I wouldn't exactly appreciate my girlfriend taking her clothes off for guys she doesn't know and openly flirting with another guy. ...Shouldn't this make KK heel?

Ah but you forget, hot girl taking her clothes off with always be cheered by the predominantly male audience and the guy who stops her will always be booed. Doesn't matter if most of the guys in Knox's position would have done the same, that's just how it is.

Has anyone noticed that whenever CM Punk is in an months plus long angle nothing ever seems to come out of it and the ones he's involved with in it seem to languish around? I can't recall an angle with him or somebody else that involved them getting over. (Except for Jeff but he was already over)

If Knox had turned on K2, she wouldn't have been making eyes at Punk.

So? Think about it. Knox was probably having sex with K2 as revenge every single Tuesday Night. Why would he dump her and ruin all of that?

Yes, maybe have her real life fling(at the time Test) be the pretty boy she leaves Knox for.

he didn't have the beard at the time, so why would she be turned on?

Kelly got hit in the face with a singapore cane during this feud.
I think she kinda deserved to turn on him.

The angle was anything but a waste of time, seeing as how it got her over. And over divas are something the WWE is short of these days It was a waste of time since divas don't sell PPV matches unless they can wrestle. Without a payoff that brings in money, any angle is a waste of time.

Yes, maybe have her real life fling(at the time Test) be the pretty boy she leaves Knox for. That might have worked. Not that the resulting Test/Knox matches would've been good, but at least it would've been better than what we got (Knox jobbing to Punk and getting little heat after the angle).

Wrestlers seem to be pretty interchangeable these days: cut-look, six pack abs, tights that resemble bike shorts, close cropped hair, weird tights color scheme (like yellow and blue), bimbo valet, lantern jaw, manscapped body, ect.

If Knox had turned on K2, she wouldn't have been making eyes at Punk. If Knox had turned on K2, she wouldn't have had eyes left to make at anyone.
