Okay, here's the deal. Let's pretend for a moment that the last two weeks never happened, and most people are still jaded by what WWE's done with John Morrison. For this argument, let's say he's still looked at the member of a tag team who was on his way to achieving less success than his partner. If we look at Morrison as the so-called Jannetty, what does that say about his former partner, Joey Mercury, who's achieved far less?
The closest comparison I could come up with was Al Snow/Leif Cassidy. And that's if we ignore the fact that Marty teamed with him AFTER Shawn Michaels, whereas Morrison teamed with Mercury BEFORE Miz.
Anyway, the comparison may just all be irrelevant. I just wanted to hear what everyone thinks of Mercury, as far as where he's been since the MNM days. Granted, there were alleged drug issues that played a role, but does anyone else think he could've gone further than he has?

I HATE HATE HATE the whole Jannetty thing. If Morrison was really the Jannetty, he would have already been fired.

I'd say it's more fair to say that Mercury is the Jannety, Morrison is the Michaels, and Miz is the Triple H. Miz was a lesser star than Morrison when they got to teaming up, but though Morrison has his successes Miz has eclipsed him.

Mercury must be what is lower than a Jannety.

Mercury went on to wear a mask so he's the Neidhart.

2 different teams, so 2 different Michaels: MNM, Morrison = Michaels Morrison & Miz, Miz = Michaels

I'd say it's more fair to say that Mercury is the Jannety, Morrison is the Michaels, and Miz is the Triple H. That doesn't work because the only reason HHH eclipsed Michaels was because Michaels wasn't there for five years. And he was spending his last run doing penance for burials by putting everybody over

Stevie Ray is the lowest form of tag team castoff I believe however. He ended up being a regular announcer for WCW, how is that lower than being a drunk on the indy scene?

The Al Snow/Leif Cassidy comparisons aren't valid, as I'd say Al Snow had a more productive career than Jannetty.

He and Kaos once beat the Armstrong brothers. Never mind the fact that everyone beat the Armstrong brothers. Then again they once lost to Joe Gomez and The Renegade.

Then again they once lost to Joe Gomez and The Renegade. They had a great match against Mike Enos & Wayne Bloom once...until The Giant ruined it by interfering. WCW loved the old "main eventer interrupts a lower card match" thing.
