I pretty much found who I truly am last year, and I contribute all of that to music, both listening and learning it. Having a creative outlet is great by itself, but it is truly an amazing feeling to write a song and look at it and go, "wow, I wrote this." Music has influenced my fashion and my life completely, and I wouldn't change it for anything So at what age did you really find yourself, and what helped you find yourself?

Not to get too "existentially angsty", but I still don't think I have. Things I thought would help give me clarity...haven't, and now I'm kinda wondering if I made a few mistakes.

I feel like I always discover something new about myself each day. So I'm not sure if I'll ever truly "find myself".

I don't ever want to find myself. It seems... dull. CONSTANTLY LEARNING ABOUT MYSELF FOR THE WIN!

I know where Citten is.
You could say there's a part of Citten in all of us.
...So, did you enjoy the chili?

I have just found myself. Just recently have discovered I need to stop dwelling on the past failures, and begin a successfull life now- while Im still young. And if that means cutting people out my life, and moving across the country then so be it. I'm unemployed right now , yet have never been so happy in my life- future looks bright.

Honestly, I need to thank my ex-fiancee. In the weeks and months after she told me to leave (there was no fight, and any 'Crappers who were around back in late-2006 might remember my threads about the situation) I went through a lot of emotional growing. I thought for sure I knew who I was and what I wanted out of life. Then I met the woman who would bring me back to a point in my life where I never thought I'd be again - and not in a good way. After months of hard drinking, dirty sex, drug abuse, and infidelity, I finally opened my eyes. It took 27 years, but I finally found myself. Now I've conquered my demons, met and married the woman of my dreams, and know where I need to go in life. Now, like Kelly 3 said, I still learn new things about myself, but it's a lot less damaging.

For a while now, I guess, and still in the process of learning new things.

I don't know. I definitely know who I am but I haven't found out where I fit in the grand scheme of things. Right now, the thing that gets to me most is the fact that I feel like I'm going nowhere in life. I literally don't know what the next step in my life is, and I feel like I need to find it soon or else I'm going to get left behind.

It was a mixture of my near-death experience and finding my girlfriend, both happened aroung the same time, first there was the accident where i nearly died and after that, when i was out of the hopital i met Sandra...my life changed completely from being shit to awesome in a couple of moments. Going from a piece of shit-boyfriend, some stuff i don't wanna explain here, nearly dying to meeting my soulmate, because that's what she is and since then i learned that i should enjoy life, that i am what i am and it doesn't matter what other people think of me, i enjoy my life the way i thinkt it's right. I have some enemies, some people think i'm weird, i'm childish, i'm a fake....who cares? I like my life, i enjoy it since i met Sandra 6 years ago (honestly i never thought that i could be in relationship with a girl, it was always boys, guys....love is weird and works in mysterious ways, but it's great)

1998 - after years of being a bit of a loser with no direction, I through it all on table and went to college to earn a degree in music. I met my wife and became fairly successful as a middle school music teacher. I was 26.
I assume by finding yourself you mean when did your life take on it's current direction.

True answer: When halfway through college this past year. I woke up one day, went to class and just....totally 'got it'. Just out of the blue like that.
Joke answer: When did I find myself? The second I stopped looking. And wouldn't you know it, I was in the last place I left myself.

When did I find myself? The second I stopped looking. And wouldn't you know it, I was in the last place I left myself. Behind the couch? Whenever I lose myself (in the music, the moment, you own it, you better never let it go) that's usually the last place I look.

Never. I was always myself. Who I was in the past helped me now, this goes on forever.

I kindof STARTED to around High School (just gonna say I got somewhat religious), but it's taken me being a student at the current college I am at. I was a real trouble child up until High School, and even when I finally shaped up I was afraid to be who I was. I was really closed off...not in an anti-social way, but I was just kindof...there, and I liked it that way. Everyone still had this trouble child idea of me.
When I got to the college I am at now, I actually found I had both a talent and enjoyment of writing, and I was able to not only write, but also talk about and enjoy things I liked and defined me and people thought it was cool and had nothing to judge it against.

I've never found myself, and I hope I never do. Because if you know exactly who and what you are that means that you have stopped learning growing and changing from your experiences.
