Good thing I'm single.
Just out of curiousity, where does this one rank in the pantheon of romantic days? I mean, you have Valentine's Day, their birthday, your anniversary, to a lesser extent Christmas and New Years, and of course, Sweetest Day. I'm of the opinion that it's a bona-fide Hallmark Holiday, but as I was dropping my son off at day care today, two of the girls there were griping about what their boyfriends did, or apparently didn't do enough of, over the weekend.

It's a holiday similar to Valentine's Day, but this one was made up by marketing companies because there was a drop in merchandise sales between Labor Day and Thanksgiving.

I got my wife a ring....
I picked up our wedding rings from being cleaned/polished/etc.
Hallmark holiday if there ever was one. If my wife ever gave me crap about it I would probably literally laugh at her - luckily she is on the same page as me.

So it's a second Valentine's Day made up on the spot because companies aren't making enough money from their commercialized bs.
...Yeah, no thanks. This holiday does not exist.

I save all my romance for St. Swithun's Day.
Then I treat myself to a fine Italian meal.

I had never heard of this until I saw it mentioned on the internet a few years ago.
I don't like Valentine's Day, even when I'm in a relationship, so that should give you an idea of what I think of this one.

I never even heard of it. Me neither, but that's most likely due to the fact that (according to Wikipedia) it's celebrated primarily in the Great Lakes region and parts of the northeastern US and I don't live anywhere near those areas.

Sweetest Day is great... I put up the Sweetest Day decorations, woke the wife up with a Sweetest Day breakfast of candied sugar toffees, and then we unwrapped the Sweetest Day presents, and went for a traditional Sweetest Day pilgrimage to several of the midwest's candy manufacturers, to thank them for such a heartfelt holiday.
Then, we tucked ourselves into bed, I took out the 4lb replica of an Idaho Spud she'd thoughtfully purchased for me, and we took turns bludgeoning each other into unconciousness.
Another successful Sweetest Day!

I celebrate no randomly made up holiday that doesn't have an aluminum pole or airing of grievances involved.

I have never heard of this... and yes it sounds exactly like "love day" from the Simpsons.

It ranks slightly higher than Boxing Day here in the US.

Well, my birthday is the 24th of December, so it'd be both a celebration and an aversion, and would only be one day later than the actual festivus day.
I want spaghetti in marinara sauce with meatballs, and chocolate babka.

There's always cinnamon babka if all else fails.
