Yeah. I just heard about this a few minutes ago and now I have no interest in watching the US title match. Even with Finlay vs Regal replacing it, I was looking forward to having the strong face dynamic of Lashley to improve the match's structure. This news ABSOLUTELY SUCKS! Are you being serious? Finlay vs Regal doesn't interest you? Finlay is in my ear too much. When you keep hearing about someone all the time, at least for me, it kind of takes the interest away. Should be a good match though but without Lashley, my anticipation for the match just went to "wait for it on DVD" levels.

I feel bad for Bobby this sounds pretty damn serious as for him being on steroids its a possibility but must we accuse every muscular guy of using Roids?
So at this moment the Top 5 Smackdown Faces are Taker,Batista,Hardy,Rey,and London or Kendrick(Tie).Soon we might get Booker T vs Paul London for the belt on a PPV

I still say roids but I don't want Lashley to "disappear".
Shelton might not get as big of a pop during the entrance, but when he delivers something unique like at WM he gets the bigger pop. Shelton's character is not appealing for the average fan to cheer.

Shelton's character is not appealing for the average fan to cheer. Well, then we'd have to have WM every week, as that would be the only way he'd get any decent reaction. Every match can't be a ladder match. If it's not for the average fan, then who's his character for to cheer? As every week in nearly every venue WWE goes to, he gets next to no reaction. I know most hate Lashley, because he's a hoss, and doesn't say his name twice or with an accent, but the guy is over with the fans. I can't remember the last time where I heard Shelton get his name chanted during a match. He's a great talent, and I liked his work when he was teaming with Haas, but the guy isn't over.

He got his name chanted in his match with Cena.
Shelton is the future, Lashley is another flash in the pan.

He got his name chanted in his match with Cena. Shelton is the future, Lashley is another flash in the pan. I can't vouch for that, so I guess I'll take your word on it as I didn't see the match. Well, if they made Shelton look like he's the future, by actually putting him in storylines/feuds with some meaning, then maybe I'd agree, but having him be Carlito's bitch for a year and a half isn't helping. And I think the cheers could be attributed to him being in there with Cena. If he's against anyone else, I'm not so sure if the fans would react, like on Monday they were dead during the Carlito match. He's not over. Great wrestler, but needs severe help finding his niche.

Baseball player Cliff Floyd had a scare with the same ailment in Spring Training. He was lucky and had to take medicine to fix it but was still able to play. He sat out while he was being evaluated though.

Well, if they made Shelton look like he's the future, by actually putting him in storylines/feuds with some meaning, then maybe I'd agree, but having him be Carlito's pregnant dog for a year and a half isn't helping. If he's against anyone else, I'm not so sure if the fans would react, like on Monday they were dead during the Carlito match. He's not over. Great wrestler, but needs severe help finding his niche. You can't vouch for it but I can since I have both Shelton/Cena matches on Tivo. In the first match, the male fans chanted "Let's go Shelton" while the females/kids chanted "Let's go Cena". In truth, that match probably got more crowd reaction than another Raw match in 2005. Two weeks ago, you can hear the duel chants return again. Everytime Benjamin goes against someone of IMPORTANCE, the fans always give the matches big reactions. Him against Nitro or Carlito won't display that though. He doesn't need help finding anything. He needs half the steady booking that Batista, Booker, or Mickie James have gotten.

With out him this match will be pointless they way I thought of it would be Finlay and Regal teaming up against Lashley more like a handicaped match.

Lashley's boring as hell and Finlay/Regal should be better without him.

If I had to guess, I would think they will put Matt Hardy in the match to take Lashley's spot. Making it Finlay vs. Regal vs. Hardy. Why is it that when anyone thinks of the US Title picture in WWE, people immediately put Matt Hardy at the top of the list of people who should get a shot at it? What has he done in the past several months that have warranted him a shot at the GAB? Why would he be put in the match when he has nothing to do with anyone involved? There is simply no rhyme or reason as to why he should be there this Sunday. Further down the road, sure, maybe, but not at this juncture.

Then again, Henry's injury was announced and Kennedy did have the time to challenge Batista and make a little feud. Hardy, on the other hand, wouldn't have the time to get in the feud/match. So it will be Regal vs. Finlay, BANK ON IT.

Exactly. It's an open challenge, so they put their biggest guy who wasn't booked yet in Henry's place. If someone like Matt Hardy had answered the challenge, we'd still be laughing about it. But for some people to assume that someone will replace Lashley at the GAB, then for people to assume Matt Hardy, of all people, is going to be the one when he has no part in the storyline they were building, is completely stupid.

This is WWE. Unusual and downright stupid storyline twists are pretty common.

Lashley's boring as hell and Finlay/Regal should be better without him. Lashley is far from 'boring', my friend. He's the bright light which keeps SmackDown on the air during these harsh times. He's booked correctly, unlike a lot of other guys who they rush into the top spot (Lesnar). I'm disappointed to see this happen to the guy. Hope he can get over it soon and make SmackDown entertaining once more.

Is much as the Belfast Bruiser/Regal match was great years ago, I don't know if WWE has the patience to allow them to go 20 minutes and I don't know if fans today would be able to sit through this pounding, grueling match where there's little aerial offense. They would be constricted to wrestle "WWE Style". WCW never had a style, you just put on matches the way you wanted. But then, the thing about PPVs is that they should be just stright matches with very little backstage content. They used to be... until angles with "The Boss" became popular.

After Benoit vs Regal on Smackdown a while back, I'm confident they'll let them beat the crap out of each other for 20 minutes or so.
